A/NI've had a few requests for outtakes, and I will get onto those, I promise. This one just kept nudging at me, so I had to write it.
Also, in this book, we can presume that there's NO SUCH THING AS IMPRINTING. Merely because it'd get too complicated otherwise.
WARNING!
If LGBT isn't your thing, please, go elsewhere. This centres around a gay couple. If you're going to feel the need to write insulting comments, then get the fuck out. Because my responses are not going to be polite. It's also a little bit smexy.
Enjoy this one! It was meant to be short, but it ended up nearly 6000 words...

I couldn't help but laugh quietly when I saw Jacob passed out, clearly in the middle of working, when I came home one evening. Since Paul had taken over the pack on the Reservation, Jacob's pack had moved out, closer to where the Cullens were currently living. The world had been quiet, so I'd decided to follow the alpha's lead and get a job.
Jacob was a year older than I. When he'd graduated from school, seven years ago now, he and Edward had gone straight of to university. Jacob had chosen to pursue engineering, but, until a year ago, had never gotten himself a job. When I'd graduated with decent marks the year afterwards, he'd been on my case to go to university. I never had. I'd only ever really liked doing things with my hands, and going to university wasn't high on my priority list. I was doing okay financially without a degree.
I ditched my bag in the doorway, where the other four wolves who crashed here had also left their crap, and balanced a magazine on Jacob's head for amusement value when he woke up. I wrote 'SLEEPING ON THE JOB' on a scrap of paper lying by his hand, snapped a picture on my phone, grinning at the blackmail material I was creating, then switched off the light and walked upstairs and into the bedroom I shared with Jacob.
After stripping off and showering, I stretched out along my bed, and sighed. I felt like such a fucking girl when I went near the alpha. I'd been nursing a crush on the man for a damn while, now. We were both openly and comfortably gay, so at least I didn't have to worry about sexuality, or contend with the dreaded closet. But regardless, I had to work hard not to turn into a mumbling teenage mess when he talked to me.

The following morning, I awoke, bleary-eyed and yawning. I'd clearly forgotten to draw the curtains the previous night, as it was still early and the sunlight streamed through the window. I could have done with the extra sleep, but at least it was a Saturday. I only worked part-time anyway, as I had responsibilities to the pack.
When I walked into the kitchen, Jacob scowled at me. I smiled sweetly, and grabbed an energy bar from the cupboard behind him. He narrowed his eyes at my nonchalance.
"You're dead meat," he said, voice low and warning.
I knew him well enough to know he was joking, so said, "I don't think so. I have blackmail material."
Embry, whom I hadn't noticed until that moment, sat at the table in the corner with his laptop, snorted. "He's cranky enough as it is. I don't think he cares about blackmail anymore."
"Dude," I said impatiently, "you are entirely ruining my fun. Don't be such a downer."
Embry shrugged, and shut his laptop. "D'you want me to get the others, boss?"
