"Mine?" Seraphine repeated, trying to process what Alcina had just said. After the last attempt in love, she failed spectacularly, deciding at that time that she might be unlovable. Not wife material. Too much to handle. Too emotional. Yet, here in front of her in the bathroom, with love in her golden eyes, Alcina stood and showed genuine interest. The first thing that came to mind for Seraphine was 'what's the catch?'. Why her? What makes her worthy of love? Seraphine didn't know.
"Yours. I can already see what's going on in that brilliant, albeit messy mind of yours." Alcina smiled, slowly unzipping her dress.
"I doubt that." Seraphine snorted, conspicuously staring at Alcina.
"We'll see. Tell me if I get it right or wrong." Her heels and jewelry was next.
"All of it. Wrong. I already know."
"Shush. You... feel unwanted and unworthy?" Alcina smiled, knowing Seraphine would be lying to her.
"Wrong."
"You assume everyone thinks you're too much to handle?" Alcina slips the dress from her shoulders.
"Wrong."
"Little liar, aren't you?" The dress fell to the floor, pooling around her bare feet. The steam from the bath filled the bathroom, making it slightly hazy. Alcina glared at her, a stare so intense, Seraphine's heart started racing, unable to keep lying.
"Fine! You're right!" Seraphine hid her red face in her hands. Alcina giggled at her, smugly happy to be able to do this to her.
"I know I'm right. Now tell me what's going on in that head of yours." Sitting in just her undergarments, Alcina became aware of the soft and steady rain falling outside.
"Uh, it... it doesn't make sense to me, why someone as beautiful and amazing as you would ever choose someone like me? Slightly unhinged and aloof, and not nearly as beautiful as-" Alcina's lips silenced Seraphine immediately. She was so bewitched by the sudden kiss, she didn't feel Alcina's claws rip her dress to shreds. Alcina hummed and pulled away, having Seraphine lustfully give chase to her lips.
"Why did you stop?" Seraphine whined.
"Unlese you close your mouth and open your ears, and hear what I'm saying, no kisses for you. Or anything else for that matter." Alcina knew what effect she had on Seraphine, smiling softly in the hazy candlelight. Seraphine pouted, crossing her arms.
"Alright. I'll listen."
"Are you going to accept that what I'm about to tell you is the truth?" Alcina cupped her cheeks.
"I'll try." Alcina could see the fear in her eyes. She knew that Seraphine was trying. She pulled her closer between her legs and held her firmly by her hips.
"Good. Seraphine, you are truly gorgeous. Especially when you smile. You have the most beautiful dimples. Oh and your eyes, fuck, Seraphine your eyes. When you look at me, I see that you have so much love to give, yet you're not sure how. When you look at me, it feels like you're looking into my soul. You make me do things and feel things I don't normally feel. You drive me crazy." Alcina paused, seeing Seraphine's facial expression soften slightly.
"What makes me smile is the fact that you have the most serious, angry-looking facial expressions, yet you're so incredibly friendly and warm. And I adore the fact that you have so much to say, yet you cannot speak. You make me feel... whole. You make me happy." Alcina kissed her softly, resting her forehead against Seraphine's. It was at this moment, both women admitted to themselves, that they were unequivocally in love. Seraphine was staring at her in awe.
