"I can't sleep."
"Neither can I. My mind is far too busy."
"Busy with what?" Seraphine lifted her head from Alcina's stomach and watched as she reached for the matches to light the candles on the nightstand. She struggled to reach the candelabra, because Seraphine was laying between her legs, refusing to move. She glanced down to the witch with loveable annoyance, but it quickly disappeared when Seraphine looked in her eyes with big, curious eyes. She couldn't bring herself to move Seraphine. She struggled awkwardly until the candelabra was finally lit.
"I worry about tomorrow."
"It will be perfect, love. No need to worry." Seraphine started purring when Alcina stroked her hair, taking a stand of gray and twirling it with her finger.
"Do you want to go and have some ice cream with me?"
"Do we have chocolate ice cream?" Seraphine moved and stretched on top of Alcina's torso.
"We do, yes. Cassandra refuses to try any other flavor." Alcina kissed her and sat up, letting Seraphine slide to the floor. After dressing themselves, Seraphine took her cane and they walked to the kitchen. Alcina smiled down at Seraphine, watching her waddle next to her. She wanted to pick her up, but Alcina knew she felt self conscious about her limp, often refusing any help. The moonlight cast ghostly shadows along with it's magical silver light. They halls were dark and they were the only souls wandering the castle since it was about 3am. Dusty patrolled the castle at night, often flying past windows to check inside. His shadow moved on the floor in front of Seraphine as he flew past, making the witch's natural instincts tell her to give chase. She ran after it briefly, since it disappeared into the darkness.
"It's just Dusty's shadow, love." Alcina chuckled softly.
"Pfft. I knew that." Seraphine was grateful for the darkness, able to hide her embarrassed, blushing face.
Once they reach the kitchen, Seraphine hops onto the kitchen counter and reached into the drawer to retrieve two dessert spoons. Alcina went to the freezer to get the tub of chocolate ice cream. She walks back and stands in front of Seraphine, between her legs, putting the tub in her lap. She takes a spoon from Seraphine and kisses her cheek. They sat in comfortable silence, taking turns in scooping up some ice cream. They were sure to whisper and keep as quiet as possible, not to wake the other denizens of the castle.
"Your hair is a mess." Seraphine held her spoon in front of her mouth and licked it, glancing at Alcina's hair, smooth and shiny, but standing wild in all directions.
"Says you." Alcina smiled and raked her fingers through her raven locks, straightening it out.
"No, I liked it like that!" Seraphine yelled a little too loud, only to have her mouth quickly covered by Alcina's large hand.
"Shush!" Alcina giggled, taking the ice cream and spoon from Seraphine and placed it on the counter next to her. If not for her hand, Seraphine would be laughing out loud. She wrapped her legs around Alcina's waist, sticking her tongue out to lick her hand, making her recoil.
"Why would you lick my hand?" Even though she was frowning, an amused smile was spread across her lips.
"Well, my tongue wants something to lick-" Seraphine giggled when Alcina kissed her, smiling into the kiss. Their lips were icy cold and their tongues sweet from the chocolate ice cream.
"Let's go put that tongue of yours to good use."

In the large, beautiful gardens of the Dimitrescu estate, Seraphine was having a panic attack. Everything was perfect - the weather comfortably warm, the flowers blooming in a kaleidoscope of different colors and shapes and a grand piano, magically manipulated to play a soft melody. Seraphine smoothed out and checked her white lace dress for the millionth time today, maniacally glancing at her family who seemed to be deadly calm. Smiling even. Alcina and Alistair was late.
