*Rose's POV*
"Lizebeth, I can not and will not do that." I stated to my best friend who sat across from me. She had honey blonde hair that was straightened and fell down to her waist, full pink lips, and bright green eyes. People would think we're an odd combination and, in reality, we are.
"Why not? I told you, I'll watch Nate and you go and have a little fun. You deserve some time to yourself." She begged me, her hands grabbing mine over the table.
"Lizzy, If I go on a date, I'm not necessarily having time to myself." I pointed out.
"Oh please just take the stick out of your ass and go! He had mentioned that you were attractive when he saw you at the Coworker's party in Springfeild!" she practically shouted at me and I rolled my eyes. I don't even know who 'he' is. Apparently some guy she was friends with and who thought I was attractive. I don't have time for another man in my life. The only man I need is Nate. I looked from where we were sitting to him in admiration. He was holding one of the daisies from the vase on Lizzy's coffe table, smiling at it as he allowed his fingers to trail over the smooth petals.
"I'll do it, but you have to promise me that he's in bed by nine, and you have to cook him dinner or else he'll throw a fit, and you know he can't watch anything violent or else-"
"Or else he has nightmares. Relax Rose, I know his routines." she soothed, kissing my forehead. "Please, just go grab one of your extra dresses from my closet. I know how to handle Nate." she whispered, getting up to walk over and sit next to Nathaniel, who immediately smiled and began to show her the daisy. I let out a breathy sigh and walked upstairs, trying to find something descent, yet formal.
I plucked a thin, black, pencil dress from the closet and paired it with a buckled leather harness I made. I grabbed a pair of six inch black platform heels and put my hair up. My makeup wasn't in its usual extremity. I grabbed my satchel and walked downstairs, saying goodbye to Lizzy and kissing Nat on the cheek.
"Aunt Liz is gonna watch you tonight. I have to go meet someone but, when I get home, I'll come in your room and tell you Goodnight. Be good for lizzy." I whispered, hugging him before leaving.
