*Ricky's POV*
After getting Nathan to fall asleep, I went back in the living room to tend to his sister. When I rounded the corner, Rosie was curled up, her hands tucked under the blanket, asleep on her couch. I smiled at how peaceful she looked. I walked closer, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
"Thank you for dinner rosie." I whispered before walking back into the kitchen to clean up our mess.
*Rose's POV*
I stirred awake and found myself laying on an extremely uncomfortable surface. Light streamed through the curtains, and there was clanging in the kitchen. I instantly was wide awake, thinking nate was trying to cook his own breakfast, again. What I saw when I walked into the kitchen shocked me. Ricky was standing over the stove, cooking something I couldn't see. Nate clung onto Ricky's back, his arms dangling over ricky's shoulders while he watched him cook. Had ricky stayed the night? Had nate finally confided in someone besides me? How do I feel about this? Am I upset? No, I can't be upset. I actually feel...happy.
"Hey, you're awake!" Nate saw me from behind his shoulder and smiled, waving. "Ricky is making breakfast!"
"That's sweet of you. I thought you went home last night though?" I asked, wrapping my arms around Ricky to kiss his cheek.
"I didn't feel comfortable leaving you here alone. Plus we're leaving the house around ten for a cookout." He gave me a sly smile.
"Oh?" I asked, looking to nate.
"Yeah! Ricky said we could go and there'd be hotdogs and burgers and basketball!" Nate raised his voice with excitement. All I could do was furrow my nonexistent brows with worry.
"Where-"
"Don't worry about it. It's at my buddy's place. We do this every sunday. They'd enjoy having you and nate there. It's a time for everyone to catch up and have fun. The girls cook and drink a little wine, while the guys play a few games of basketball. It's right next to a lake, so there's fishing and atv-ing. What do you say?" Ricky cut me off, handing me a plate with three strawberry pancakes. I bit my lip and nodded reluctantly.
"It'll be a good time to meet everyone. Just ricky, make sure they go easy on nate. I don't want to be in the hospital. I know Chris can be a little competitive."
"You have my word." Ricky said, kissing my nose.
I walked over to the table and began eating. I have no idea how all of this is gonna play out. I met Chris at an expo years ago and we hit it off, but we don't talk like we used to. He wanted a relationship but I knew he couldn't handle kids so I broke contact. It's been weird between us since. I haven't met the others, I just want nate to enjoy himself.
I quickly ate my breakfast considering it was already eight o'clock and I still had to take a shower and get dressed. I kissed ricky and thanked him for breakfast before darting into my bedroom, grabbing clothes, and going into the bathroom to turn on the water for a shower. After the shower, I grabbed my clothes and began to get dressed.
Since I'd never met these people before, I decided on a white sundress with a blue floral pattern. I added my custom black leather chest harness and some black glitter platforms. What can I say, Tacky shit makes me happy. I didn't put on makeup, just some simple blue eyebrows to match my dress. It was nine - thirty by the time I finished. I went back into the living room to find nate, already dressed. I looked at ricky with a crooked grin.
"I helped him get dressed. I hope you don't mind." He said from where he was sitting on the couch, nate sitting next to him as they watched the morning looney tunes.
"I don't mind at all. Are you ready?" I shook my head with a smile, asking nate and ricky both the last question.
"Yep!" Nate jumped off the couch as ricky followed behind lazily. He grabbed my hand and held it in his when I went to lock the door behind us. I smiled at him and we walked behind nate, going up to ricky's car.
As I slid into the front seat after I got nate situated in the back, I just hoped Chris would decide on being civil when we got there. I mean, he was the one who set me up with Rick..
