Chapter 11

"Red! if you want to fill the pokedex, you can't stay in Pallet town. You'll need to explore afar"

Red yawned sleepily as he patiently listened to the Professor explanation. It's already pass daybreak, and the elder Oak has hold him in place ever since they finished catching Bulbasaur which greatly annoyed Red since the ravenette can use this time to have a good sleep instead after staying up late until 6 in the morning.

"If you ask me, you should start at the Viridian forest. It's straight north of this city. I guarantee that you'll find brand new pokemon you've never seen before" Professor Oak pointed out.

"Beside...that's where...never mind!" The Professor ended that vague explanation with a gleeful laugh causing a tick mark to appears on Red's forehead.

Present Time, Kanto, Viridian Forest

With bags below his eyes, and puffy Red eyes, Red tiredly strolled through the viridian forest with less enthusiasm that a young 10-years old children supposed to posses when they start their first journey.

He didn't have enough sleep, and his mother practically drag him away from his blissful sleep in his comfy bed and ordered him to get ready after founded out that he will start his pokemon journey last night which he regret telling in the first place.

Considering the danger that the viridian forest can pose, protection from his own pokemon were in order.
Pressing the button in his pokeball, the ravenette throw the pokeball high into the air his pokemon magically materialized in front of him.

"CHAR!"

Instantly, something rammed into him, knocking the wind out of him as he painfully fall into the ground. Looking up, it was revealed that the suspect is none other than his Charmander, Charly as he feels it nuzzling into his chest affectionately. Sighed exhaustedly, he patted the fire lizard head who responded by buried it's head deeper into his chest and cooed gently, Red smiled at it. 

Sitting up with Charly who has crawled down into it's trainer's lap, Red pulled out another pokeball from his trainer belt and tapping the release button, setting the little seed pokemon loose into the wilderness. Bulbasaur's eyes were closed initially, but they opened up blearily after a moment or two.

Red smiled at it. "How are you feeling?"

Bulbasaur looked around and seemed rather confused. Red did his best to fill it in. "We're no longer in Viridian Gym, we're now in Viridian forest"

The grass-type's eyes cleared in understanding and it nodded. 

Red cleared his throat and decided to introducted his pokemons with each others. "Charly i want you to meet Bulbasaur the new member of our team. Bulbasaur this is Charly, your new friend and comrade"

Charly's first instinct upon hearing that is to made a friendly chirp in and waved excitedly at Bulbasaur, taking an effort to appear welcoming.

Bulbasaur appreciate the friendly gesture as it smiled happily and waved back with one of It's vine although with less enthusiasm than Charly have.

"Charmander..." Charly hopped from it's trainer lap and ran with full energy until it got face to face with Bulbasaur as it extended it's tiny claw at the seed pokemon. Bulbasaur understand what it means and take the offering claw with it's vine as they share a friendly handshake for a few moments before withdrawing their appendage from each other.

Attention draw back towards their trainer, both of the pokemon silently asking what would they do next towards the Ravenette.

Red send a reassured smile at them as he stand up and dusted himself then gestured both of them to following him with his hand. Charly and Bulbasaur immediately obliged their trainer order as they walk side by side with their trainer. Bulbasaur appear to enjoying itself as it basked in the sunlight, while Charly sharply looking around it's surrounding for potential threat that can endangered it's trainer such as wild pokemon who lurk around in the forest.
