Part 10

Fusion slowly walked back up the stairs. He ignored Jessica's stare and hoped she wouldn't tell Dawko he was there. Why did Jessica not like him? Fusion opened the door and walked back inside Dawko's room. Fusion sat back down on the chair. Then he waited. He waited for Dawko to come back. Dawko said it would only be a minute. They've been kissing for that whole minute. Fusion picked up the plushie that Dawko had set aside. Fusion didn't know if he wanted Dawko to come back or he wanted Dawko to leave him alone. Why was he upset? There was no reason to be upset.

Suddenly, Fusion heard the door open. It was Dawko. "Hey Brandon." Dawko said. "I'm going to go out and get us some food.  Come with me." He said, holding his hand out to Fusion. Dawko realized that was too weird and pulled his hand back. "I need to talk to you." Dawko said, looking away to not see Fusion's face. "Oh.." Fusion said. "Okay." Fusion couldn't look at Dawko the same after what he saw. But what Dawko said gave Fusion a little glimmer of hope. But Fusion found this worrying as well. Was Dawko upset about earlier? Did Dawko see Fusion on the stairs?

Dawko motioned for Fusion to follow him out of the room. Fusion followed and closed the door behind them. Fusion ignored Jessica as he walked down the stairs. Dawko reaching out his hand made Fusion think about what would happen if they did hold hands. Fusion caught himself wanting to actually try it. They were friends but they never held hands before. Maybe that would be okay to do if Fusion asked.

Dawko unlocked the car door. Fusion opened the passenger side door and got inside. Dawko got inside as well and started the car. Fusion buckled his seatbelt as Dawko turned on the radio to empty out the silence. Once Dawko buckled his own seat belt he began driving. They both didn't speak. It was silent except for the radio. Fusion didn't know where they were going. Fusion also didn't know what Dawko wanted to talk about. But soon he would find out.
