Chapter 12

As the morning came, you were pretty excited for your date. Today you were going to have Kaga explain her feelings towards you. It was easier to think about it the day before, but the less time till it happened, the more worried you were getting.

Y/N:"What if she will hate me after this? Ugh.. I can't keep thinking of it like that! Let's say she likes me, then what? Happily ever after, and kids? We are on the verge of war, and we are part of the greatest naval power in the world!

After a minute or so you made the most typical decison

Y/N:"I will think about it later.."

And with that, you got up. It was 8 A.M, so you still had 2 hours before Kaga comes over to get you. More than enough time to get ready and check the mailbox.

After getting ready you went over to check the mailbox

Y/N:Mhm... Usual crap from Akashi trying to get me to buy some gems (I still have plenty of them to affort most things). Oh? A letter? I guess I can check it

You picked up a fancy looking letter and went back inside. You remembered, that in Japanese Empire there was a pretty harsh censorship, but apprently here it is not working. The letter was from...

Y/N:ADMIRAL CHESTER NIMITZ?!? That is too fast! I only released Hornet yesterday!

You opened the letter, and read through its contents. Apparently, The Admiral wants to meet you at Hawaiian base. As the letter says, you will be talking about maintaining your alliance, and strengthening bond between 2 of the greatest naval powers. You were allowed to take an assistant with you.

Y/N:So it's basically an invitation, huh? When is it going to happen?

You scanned the letter in search of the information about the time. It took you about 4 seconds

Y/N:"In a week from now? I think I have time. Lemme check"

You picked up your planner and checked the next week. It was almost completely clear. Except for the usual paperwork.

As you finished checking it, your phone rang. It was Kaga

Kaga:Hello, Y/N [Your Uber driver here. I'm outside]. Are you ready?

Y/N:Mhm. Wait, why are you calling me? Why don't you just knock at the door?

Kaga:Oh. I thought, that you were still sleeping, so I wanted to check

Y/N:What is up with that opinion about me?

Kaga giggled lightly

Kaga:I'm just joking, don't worry

Y/N:"She is quite different today. There is only one way to find out why" I will be  heading out, gimme a second

Kaga:Okay

With the call ended. You put the letter in the desk drawer and decided to inform Kaga about the letter, and ask her is she wants to go with you as the assistant. As you opened the door Kaga was once again in her casual outfit, leaning on your wall next to the door

Kaga:Hello there!

Y/N:GENRAL KENO- I mean Good morning!

Kaga:"What the hell was that just now? Is he high or what?" What was that greeting, you were expecting somebody else, but it was me?

Y/N:Nah, just a habit. Sorry

Kaga:It's alright. Now, let's go

Y/N: I am eager to see, what have you planned for today

Kaga then smiled warmly at you. This is the first time she smiled like that

Kaga: I am sure you will like it!
