Chapter 1- The Start of the apocalypse

*buzz buzz*
You open your eyes a slither as you reach for your phone to switch off your alarm. (in your head) "Shut up."
(out loud) " Shut up!" You shout as you switch it off.
It's morning already? You think to yourself as you look out the window.
"Aylin!" Your mom shouts from downstairs. "Wake up it's time for school!"
"Ugh" You groan as you drag yourself out of bed and get in the shower. You put on your school uniform and head downstairs.
"Good morning sweetie!" Your mom says energetically. "Morning mom" "How did you sleep?" "Meh. It was okay" "Okay then. I made you breakfast! Oatmeal and a slice of toast. Yummy right?" "Thanks Mom." You say as you sit down and start eating. Your dad comes downstairs singing. "Morning my pumpkin" he says as he plants a kiss on your forehead. "Morning Dad". You smile as you watch your father kiss your mother.
"I've gotta get to work. So bye sweetie, bye honey! And good luck on your first day of Senior year!" He shouts as he closes the door. "Yeah, I think I've gotta go too Mom. Thanks for breakfast, it was delicious!" "Aww your welcome sweetie. Enjoy your first day! I love you!" "Thanks I will Ma! Love you too!"
You head outside, get on your bicycle and start riding to school.

As your riding down the road you feel your bike go over something. (in your head) "Oh did I drop something?" You stop your bike and pick a newspaper off the ground. You skim the paper and one headline catches your eye.
*Scientists have a new medicine ready for pharmaceutical release* it reads. "Oh that's interesting". You leave the paper on the ground and carry on riding to school. You ride past a few tents on the side of the road and see some people in critical condition. Coughing, looking pale, snorting. (in your head) " I feel so bad for them...  I hope they get well soon."
A few minutes later you get to school and get an uneasy feeling. Something feels... off
You shrug it off and walk into class. You see a long line to the nurses office. "Damn..." You think. Your best friend is standing at the end of the hallway waving to you. "Syera!" "Aylin!" You quickly run towards her and hug her. "Ah! I've missed you so much!" she says. "We literally saw each other 2 days ago!?" You both laugh and walk around the school, catching up about life. "Wait, is that Zack?" she says pointing at a tall guy. "Yes! Let's go say hi." You both walk towards him and say hi (together) "Hi!" He gets startled and turns around. "Hey girls." Wow... he's really gotten hot over the holidays. You think as you look at him from top to bottom. His hair is shaggy, dark black and covering his eyes a bit. He looks so hot in his uniform. It holds him in all the right places, it compliments his eyes so much. You just want to run your hand down his beautifully toned chest, to his abs-
" So how have you been?"
Your brought back to reality when you hear Zack's voice interrupting your thoughts. "Huh?" You ask as your voice cracks a bit. "I said how have you been?" "Oh I'm okay. Can't complain about it cause other's have it worse." "Yeah I guess"
*school bell rings*
"Oh well there's the bell. I'll see you guys at break okay?" Syera says. "Uh yeah sure. See ya." Zack says. You nod. They both walk away and your left alone. You head to class and find your seat.
First, second and third period are uneventful. Once fourth period comes you need the bathroom. You raise your hand and say "Mr. Leano? Please may I use the restroom?" "Yes but be quick" he replies. You get out of your seat and walk down the hall to the bathrooms. Once your done handling your business you go to the sinks and see a girl crouched down with her head on her knees. Concerned, you ask "Hey, are you okay? Do you need anything?" She slowly looks up at you. She's  incredibly pale. "I'm gonna call the school nurse okay?Just stay here." You say. But as your about to leave she starts coughing, really badly. Just like that guy on the side of the road! "Okay you really need the  nurse. I'm coming back" She slowly stands up and her eyes turn red. "What the-" you think. She starts screaming then slowly walks towards you. You back away shouting "Please leave me alone!" It seems like she can't hear you. As your backing away you press into something hard then realise you backed into the wall. She's still shuffling  towards you. As you stare in horror she opens her mouth and jumps towards you. You quickly grab the mop and swing it hard into her head while screaming. You hear her skull crack. Your panting then you look down onto the ground and see blood and brains leaking onto the floor. You start screaming and crying. You drop the mop and run out of the bathroom. You run into class and shout to your teacher "Mr. Leano! There's a gir- There was a girl she- She tried to- " you can't talk because of shock. Your teacher tries to calm you down saying "Miss Law, calm down. Just sit on this chair." "No!" You fight back. "You have to go see her! I- I- I killed her!" Your entire class stares at you, shocked at what you just said. Silence fills the room, then suddenly there's a scream in the hallway. Everyone runs out the classroom to see a boy biting down on a girls neck as she screams. Everyone pulls out their phones to record it. Your teacher says "Everyone get back into the classroom! Now!" He starts to slowly walk towards the boy as the girl falls to the floor. "Sir? Stop whatever your doing!" The boy turns to the teacher and starts shuffling towards him. "Sir? Please calm down. We can talk about this!" The boy suddenly lunges towards Mr. Leano at an unexpected speed. He bites down on his shoulder, Mr. Leano shouts for help but everyone is screaming. "Rest In Pieces Sir!" one student shouts as he starts running away. Everyone else screams and runs away and that's when you notice that all the classes have come out to watch. That one girl he was biting has stood up and started biting other people. Mr. Leano is doing the same. People are getting bitten and biting other people. You look at the hallway and see people running, falling, and skidding over spilled blood. You just stare in horror when you hear a familiar voice shout out to you. "Aylin!" You snap out of it and look back to see Syera shouting out for you. "Run! Hurry up!" You start running towards her but you slip and fall into a pool of blood. A dead student lies right next to you. You feel something grab your ankle and you look to your feet and see a dead, pale creature with it's hand around your ankle in death grip. You flip over onto your back and start screaming. "Ah!" The pungent smell of rotting flesh fills your nostrils. You get dizzy and close your eyes, waiting for it to bite you and end it all. Your stomach sinks in horror as you feel it's breath on you. It lunges towards you and-
