"From now on, we are all enemies." Akashi declared, his eyes piercing them all. "The next time we meet, it'll be on the high school national stage."
A girl with red hair pushed back at the front tied in a low ponytail walked through the school gates. Her maroon red eyes looked straight forward as she ignored the gazes of the other students. The wind seemed to blow against her, giving her more of a heavenly look as the sun shined down on her.
Walking into the auditorium, the girl sat down with grace, her presence was intimidating for the others. They wanted to sit next to the beauty, but something seemed to stop them, it felt like they were below her, that she was too out of reach for them. Soon enough, the auditorium filled up with new first year students as well as returning second years and third years.
"Mind if I sit here?" a girl with brown hair asked her.
She smiled. "Of course, go right ahead."
"Thanks." the girl sat down next to the redhead. "I'm Kokori Yuna, what's your name?"
"Akashi, Akashi Sayori." Her maroon eyes gleamed. "It is a pleasure to meet you. May I call you, Kokori-chan?"
"Yep! It's nice to meet you as well, Akashi-chan," Kokori replied, smiling. "You're not from Hyotei Academy right? I would have noticed if someone like you went here."
"No, I transferred from Teiko," she answered. "I wanted a change of atmosphere."
"I see!" Kokori clapped her hands together. "Then I hope you'll enjoy it here. I can introduce you to some of my friends if you want."
"That would be lovely, thank you Kokori-chan." Sayori smiled at her, her eyes crinkling. "Tell me, do you play a sport?"
"How did you know?" Kokori grinned, pushing her brown hair over her shoulder. "I play tennis. What about you?"
"Me as well. I'm quite famous in that department," Sayori replied, a ghost of a smile on her face.
"Now that I think about it you do look familiar..." She mumbled. "Where have I seen you before...?"
Before Kokori could recall where she had seen Sayori before, the auditorium went silent as someone walked onto the stage, standing in front of the microphone.
'He is very graceful,' Sayori noted with the way he walked. 'Brimming with confidence as well, from the looks of it he seems a tad bit egotistical.'
When he reached the mic, he snapped his fingers and held a smirk on his face. "Dear teachers and fellow students, my name is Atobe Keigo. I welcome you all to Hyotei's official beginning of the new school year. It's my pleasure to be here on this stage to welcome you all back, and welcome the new first years and transfer students to Hyotei Academy. I advise you to take advantage and exploit the resources offered and given to you by the school. As the student council president of this school-"
'So he's the president...' Sayori observed the male giving out his speech, a small smirk made it to her face.
"-I shall offer my hand to help you adjust to Hyotei's school life to the best of your needs. I hope everyone here today will be able to enjoy their time here, so once again, welcome to Hyotei Academy!"
Atobe snapped his fingers again and flower petals flew down into the auditorium as chants of "Atobe!" and "Hyotei!" were shouted.
'He seems quite popular...' She watched as he bowed and students cheered for him, the female population mostly shouting his name. Her eyes moved to Kokori who had a small blush on her face while staring at the third year. She looked back at Atobe with an unimpressed look. 'Ryouta-kun is better looking than him.'
"Kokori-chan," Sayori said, snapping the girl out of her daydreaming state. "Shall we check the bulletin board to see what classes we're in?"
"A-Ah yeah," Kokori mumbled, standing up along with her. "Let's go Akashi-chan!"
Kokori and Sayori walked side by side through the halls. The brunette was a twitching mess from all the stares Sayori was getting which resulted in her getting stared at as well along with the whispers that followed.
Sayori noticed Kokori being silent and tilted her head."Is something wrong?"
"N-No, nothing Akashi-chan," Kokori replied, sweat dropping. 'To be around beautiful people is a curse and blessing!' "Ah, the bulletin board is over there, I hope we can be in the same class together."
The two looked up at the board, their eyes searching for their names. "It seems like we're in the same class, Kokori-chan," Sayori said as she spotted their names. "Class 3-C."
"Please take care of me, Akashi-chan." The brunette grinned, smiling up at the taller girl.
"Hm. Shall we go now? I'd like to be early to class rather than late on the first day of school."
Sayori was seated in the back of the class near the door while Kokori was in the middle. The red haired beauty opened her book, waiting for the teacher to come as Kokori made friends with the people surrounding her. She seemed to be friends with a bow wearing a blue cap with brown hair. When they walked into the classroom, the first person she had greeted was him, calling him, "Shishido-kun".
She sat next to a boy with messy orange hair who was sleeping with his head on his desk. However, she chose to read her book instead of interacting with the male, she didn't want to disturb his sleep. Although, she had some girls whispering that they were happy to be in a class with the "Sleeping Beauty". She assumed that they were talking about the male beside her.
Soon enough the teacher walked into class and the students went to their seats. Sayori closed her book, putting it to the side and looked at the orange haired boy. Reaching over, she tapped his shoulder.
"Wake up, the teacher is here," she said and the boy grumbled, opening up his brown eyes.
"Who are you?" he asked, still drowsy as he yawned.
"Akashi Sayori, and you?"
"Akutagawa Jirō," he yawned out, rubbing his eyes before turning to get a better look at the girl. "Nice to meet you AkaC~."
"It's Akashi," Sayori replied.
"That's what I said though? AkaC-"
"Just call me Sayori if you cannot pronounce my name correctly," Sayori cut him off, shaking her head. "Let's have a good year together, Akutagawa-kun."
"Let's." Jirō smiled, dozing off despite just being woken up.
"Akashi-chan, are you going to try out for the tennis team?" Kokori asked the girl walking next to her.
"Of course, I plan to become a regular," she revealed and the brunette let out a hum.
"That'll be hard though, the girls are really strong. I just barely made it to the regulars, but I don't play often due to the others," the girl mumbled.
Sayori glanced at her from the corner of her eyes. "What type of player are you Kokori-chan?"
"I do doubles... I'm a defensive counter-puncher," she answered.
"I see, but don't worry. I'll be making it onto the team today," Sayori confidently said, her left eye flickering from maroon to orange. "Those strong regulars of yours will be bowing down to me by the end of the day, that is a fact."
