"I can't help but feel like I'm surging with strength," Murasakibara said, looking at his palm. "If I start playing for real, I feel like I'll even crush my allies."
The audience watched in shock as Ria fell to her hands and knees, her tennis racket discarded on the floor. Their captain had lost to the new girl.
She was bowing down to her.
"That was disappointing," Sayori said, not even sweating as she looked at Ria's crumbled up form. "I only used three moves the entire match and didn't have to try to defeat you. Now that you've seen the difference between us, know your place. Keep your head down when you face me because someone like you isn't even worthy enough to speak to me nor to look me in the eye." She sighed, walking off the court, not even offering to shake her hand out of sportsmanship. "How pathetic you are. As the new captain, the first thing I'll do is remove weaklings like you off this team."
Ria grit her teeth, tears falling onto the court as they escaped her eyes. She was utterly humiliated in front of the majority of the student body who heard about was going on and came to watch. Reluctantly, she lifted up her head, eyes widening. Ōtori Chōtaro, Oshitari Yūshi, and Akutagawa Jirō, three tennis club regulars and males that she admired, had witness her defeat. 'That's right... They returned from the training camp in Switzerland a week ago...'
She dreaded the thought of the boys tennis clubs regulars seeing her defeat, at least Atobe, her idol and crush, wasn't there, if he was then Ria would have never stepped into school again after that embaressment.
"Kokori-chan," Sayori said, walking up to the girl who let out a squeak.
"A-Akashi-chan!" Kokori stood up straighter when the redhead approched her.
"Come now, let's head to the clubroom," she ordered, giving her a closed eyed smile."
The brunette was confused. "Huh...?"
"Now that I am the new captain, I will be filtering out the weak from the strong. My vice captain should help me out, right?"
Her eyes widened. "Y-Yes! Of course, Akashi-chan!" Kokori blurted out, rushing after the girl.
As the girls walked off the courts, the bystanders made a path for them, their eyes watching their every move.
"Akashi Sayori?"
"She totally destoryed Ria-san."
"Who's the brunette? Akashi just made her vice captain."
"I think that's Kokori Yuna, Shishido's friend."
"Oh, her."
"Well it looks like the girl's team is going to be different this year."
Jirō watched Sayori with bright eyes. "Hey hey, AkaC is amazING! I'm getting exCITED now!"
"To think someone like her would appear in this school. This is getting interesting," Oshitari hummed, crossing his arms.
"I feel bad for Horimiya-san," Ōtori replied, wincing as he watched some other girl members from the tennis team help her up. "I think that was a bit much, to kick her while she was already down."
"AkaC is similar to Atobe," Jirō blurted out, putting his hands behind his head. "I'm really excited now. I want to play a match against her one day."
"Well if you have that much energy, use it for practice."
Sitting in the clubroom along with Kokori, Sayori looked over the list of tennis club members and applicants. It was only the first day and she was already stepping up to be a captain, it made Kokori admire the girl even more.
