The rain fell from the dark clouds as it did every day, every drop hitting the ground in a symphony of sorrow. Everyone ran along the side walks, packed together in crowds as they ran in search of shelter.
Angel watched as the people scattered around in search of somewhere dry, she stood under the cover of a bus stop, taking in the features of everyone that ran past. Angel closed her eyes and sniffed the air, smiling faintly when she opened her eyes; she loved the smell that the rain brought. Angel pulled her hood over her head and watched as the people ran past, 'why do they hate the rain?' She asked herself curiously. Angel continued to look around until she spotted something she had never seen before.
Her gaze moved up to one of the shorter buildings, she could make out a distinct figure sitting on the ledge of the building, his legs dangling over the side. She couldn't make out any of his features as he was wearing a hood just like her. The boy made her curious, 'why doesn't he run like everyone else?' She asked herself, Angel slowly stood, not moving her gaze from the figure; he seemed to be starring right back at her.
The boy stood slowly, wincing as he felt more and more rain pelting down on him, his clothes felt heavy since they had absorbed so much of the water. Strangely, he did not feel cold, he didn't feel much at all. The boy glanced once more at the girl at the bus stop before turning away and jumping off the ledge of the building.
Angel's eyes widened once she saw him jump, she shot up and ran in the direction that the figure had jumped, running across the road; paying little to no attention to all the cars that had just missed her. She dashed into the alley that she expected to find his broken body, but what she found surprised her.
A large grey wolf stood facing away from her, it shook it's fur before shifting slowly into the form of the boy, he immediately turned around and spotted her. "Who the hell are you." He murmured gruffly, studying her from the shadows of his hood.
Angel took a few steps back, almost tripping. "I-... I ah..." She stuttered, "I saw you jump..." She said in a slightly fearful tone.
The boy sighed and pulled off his hood, dark blonde hair fell over his pure grey eyes. "You know what I am." He said quietly, "and I know what you are, get out of here before someone gets hurt."
Angel backed up against a wall, "w-what do you mean?!" She whimpered.
The boy starred right into her eyes, "you're scent." He murmured, "it isn't human."
Angel tried to back up further but the wall prevented this, "what the hell are you talking about?"
The boy stepped closer to her until they were only a few inches apart, "you don't know what you are, do you." He smirked slightly.
Angel's eyes were wide with fear, "what do you mean? I'm human!" She cried.
The boy's smirk faded, he sighed and pulled a knife out of his back pocket, pressing the blade into the palm of his hand and watched as the inky red blood seeped from the small wound.
Angel's eyes changed to black, the fearful expression faded and all that showed was hunger.
The boy ripped off part of his jacket and wrapped it around the wound as a makeshift bandage, he snapped his fingers and Angel's eyes went back to normal. "You're a mystic." He said in a lighter tone, "a Vampire, to be exact..."
