Your mother hated the fall season.
It reminded her of the fact that you and Jouta would wind up at the door after school everyday with puddle juice on the bottom of your shoes and leaves dropping from the hairs on your heads. It reminded her to check Jouta's outfit every morning before he left to school to see if he was wearing heavy enough clothes to keep him warm during this cold weather. It reminded her that you were gonna end up locked up in your room with blankets up to your nose, complaining that the weather was too cold even though you were insisting you keep your bedroom window open.
But this year something was off.
You weren't inside your room, blankets practically burying you under them.
You were with your new friend, Chifuyu.
The fact that someone had finally gotten you to get out of that bed with 20 blankets atop it brought a feel of relief.
She didn't mind the fact that you went out more than usual and stayed up later than you should be because you were not so secretly sneaking Chifuyu in through your window some nights.
She just wanted you happy with the person you cared for a lot.

Chifuyu Matsuno wanted to try journaling.
The thoughts he had jumbled in his head were filling his brain to the max. He needed to empty the words crammed in his mind to make more space for the important thoughts. Like if Baji is getting pulled over again. Or if Takemichi is ready to man up and ask his girlfriend out on a date without 20 hours of constant worry and hesitation.
Or if you're happy right now.
He taps the end of his pen to his forehead roughly, clicking it on and flipping open the notebook. The first page stared blankly at him, a shorter line on the top right corner for the date while the rest was filled to the very end with empty lines. He pauses for a second before writing in the numbers at the top, eyes following down to the first main line after he finished.
Chifuyu leans back in his seat. What would he start with? How does he finish off his first page?
Journaling is supposed to be relaxing and a way to let out your emotions and worries, Chifuyu reminds himself.
So he starts writing.
His very first sentence was:
'I haven't shared any yakisoba with Baji lately...'
