"It's Nick Fury," Peter said, switching his gaze from the screen to Skylar.
"Well? Answer it," Skylar said with wide eyes.
"Alright. Roxie, answer the call," Peter commanded.
"Your wish is my command," Roxie said, making Peter roll his eyes and Skylar to chuckle.
Roxie answered the call and there he was; Nick Fury with his iconic eye patch and scowl. Skylar wondered if Fury was born with that expression. Just imagine a baby with a serious expression all day, that would be hilarious.
Back to reality, Fury seemed to be in a Helicarrier. The world headquarters and signature capital ship of S.H.I.E.L.D... or what remained of S.H.I.E.L.D after Steve and Nat unmasked HYDRA operating inside of the agency. The helicarriers were highly strategic mobile bases from which they could conduct a range of effective reconnaissance, stealth deployment or direct attack operations. Basically a spacecraft but cooler.
"Mr. Parker..." Fury began to say.
Again the Mr. Parker thing?! "Sir?" Peter was sweating. Fury's serious expression always sent cold shivers through Peter's spine.
"We need your help, Parker. A man named Seymour Schneider infiltrated Stark Industries and tried to take it over as his revenge. We tried to catch him, but he managed to evade us, stealing one of Tony's suits," Fury explained. "We think that he was related to Quentin Beck, a childhood best friend maybe? When he discovered you erased Quentin from existence, he went rogue,"
"What?! And he didn't tell me about it?" Skylar exclaimed. She was a bit hurt that her father didn't tell her about it.
"He tried to keep it low-key; you were just moving to Westview to have some peace after the NY incident so he didn't want to worry you," Fury said.
"Oh..." Skylar hated when someone mentioned the NY incident.
"He was last seen in Czech Republic 2 hours ago, and we need Spider-Man's help," Fury said, grabbing a tablet and typing something into it.
"There are a lot of other Avengers, can't one of them deal with him?" Peter asked. He wanted to spend time with Skylar, his soon-to-be wife.
"All of them are on missions," Fury said, still with a serious face. (😐)
"What about me? I'm an Avenger too, remember?" Skylar said, crossing her arms.
"I don't think it's the most prudent decision to send you on this mission, not after what happened-" Fury said.
"Yeah! I know, NY..." Skylar said. She was fed up with people mentioning it.
"Until you are able to control your powers, I'm not sending you on any mission," Fury stated.
"It's okay," Skylar said, looking to the ground.
"Parker, I've already sent a car that is going to pick you up, I'll wait for you here," And with that, Fury ended the video call.
"I guess the dinner will be moved to another day?" Skylar said, pouting her lips.
"I'm sorry princess, I would love to stay but we are superheroes and the life of a superhero is never easy," Peter said, hugging Skylar.
"I should be back in about 5 days tho," Peter smiled.
"Those will be the most boring 5 days of my life, what am I going to do without you for soooo long?" Skylar said in her childish voice, still pouting her lips.
"You'll figure it out, you always do," Peter said, grabbing his suit.
At that moment, a car honked and they knew the car that Fury sent had already arrived.
