******AUTHOR'S NOTE*****

I have included a picture of the lingerie that Abigail picks out for better visualization.

*****END OF NOTE*****

The rest of the week went by like a breeze. Sam and I worked tirelessly on our new case and it was coming along well. I think that we have a really good shot at winning.

Noah has been really busy with his updated deadline and I only see him in passing. But every time I do, he smiles a smile that is reserved for only me. And every time I see that smile, I melt.

Before I knew it, I was waking up Saturday morning with a warm feeling in my chest. I was excited about my weekend with Noah and I couldn't wait until he showed up at my door. I bounced out of bed and hopped into the shower. I was singing along to Taylor Swift while washing my body when my doorbell rang. I quickly rinsed off and grabbed my robe to cover myself as I headed to the door. Surely it wasn't Noah so early, he has a meeting this morning.

I opened it to find Savannah standing on my doorstep.

"Hey, girl. Bad time?" I rolled my eyes and let her in.

"What are you doing here?"

"Um, it's Saturday. We always do stuff together on Saturday."

"Right. I almost forgot." She looks at me with a puzzled look on her face.

"Am I interrupting something again? Because if there is a naked man in your shower right now, I deserve a heads up." I laugh at her comment as I reflect on the last time she was at my house.

"No, Sav. There are no naked men in my house. Or any men for that matter."

"Okay good. Because as proud as I was that you were getting some, I definitely didn't need to see it." I laughed aloud.

"You didn't even see anything!" I said playfully.

"I didn't have to see anything. It was completely obvious what was going on. He was kneeling in front of you and you were wrapped in a blanket with a look of horror on your face. Doesn't take a genius to decipher what I walked in on."

"Well, you don't have to worry about walking in on that again any time soon," I said, trying to be convincing.

"So I take it you ended things with Noah?" Her tone lowered and her words dripped with sympathy. She was clearly concerned about me and it warmed my heart to know that she cared so much.

"Well, sort of." She cocked an eyebrow at me.

"What do you mean, sort of?" I took a deep breath.

"We are no longer in a strictly sexual relationship." Her brow furrowed.

"I think what you meant to say is that you're no longer in any sexual relationship." Her words were stern and her voice had just a hint of irritation and I knew she wasn't going to like what I was about to tell her.

"Actually, we're sort of dating..."

"WHAT?" She shouted. "Abigail, you were supposed to end things with him for the sake of your career."

"I know that. But when I tried to end things, he told me he liked me and he asked me out on a date."

"I thought you told me that you didn't want to risk your career for this man?"

"No, I didn't want to risk my career for sex. But what if this isn't just sex, Sav? What if this turns out to be something real? What if he ends up being my forever?"

"Yeah? Well, what if he ends up breaking your heart and destroying your career in the process?"

"I've thought a lot about that and it's a chance I'm willing to take. There's just something about Noah that makes me feel so alive. Like I could do whatever I wanted to do. And at the same time, he makes me feel safe. Like he wouldn't let anything happen to me. I don't know what the future holds for us, but I'm willing to take the chance and find out because I know that no matter what happens between us, the journey would have been worth it."
