Feliks knew that he was different from other children. On the occasion he got to go outside of the academy, he could see children walking along the street holding their parent's hands with gleeful, toothy smiles. When he went to the spot on the roof, he could hear laughs and delighted screams from the nearby park. He hadn't heard any such noises echo in the academy. At least, not when Reginald was around.
Despite all this, Feliks could say that he was content with his life. Yes, it could be lonely living in a big mansion, but he had his siblings, the loyal butler, and mamushka, so he survived.
"I heard a rumor that you gave me my headband back and slammed your head against the wall twenty times!"
"OW! OW! OW!"
Well, he survived lest he perishes in this household.
"K-Klaus gi-ve m-me my kn-knife!"
"No chance, bro. I need to shank a bitch for tearing up my favorite feather boa!"
"I said that I was sorry, Klaus! I'm still trying to control my strength!"
Feliks hummed amusedly, "At least life is never dull." He said, mostly to himself but also Five. They were all on the roof garden, the only outdoor place where there were permitted to be besides going out on missions or the courtyard. Five and Feliks were currently sitting in the shade of a tree, Five reading about equations and physics while Feliks slumbered on his lap as a fluffy, white cat. The noise had woken him up, but he didn't mind. With this family, one had to learn how to control their temperament.
"If that's what you want to call it." Five scoffed, turning a page in his book and scribbling something in his notebook. Feliks glanced over at what he was writing; what were probably equations looked like Egyptian hieroglyphics to him.
"What is you writing?"
"What are you writing." Five corrected patiently. Feliks knew he wasn't being condescended. With his thickened accent, English pronunciation was harder for him and he still got words mixed up despite being raised in a mainly English-speaking country. He wasn't worried though, Five and Vanya have been helping him and they said that training a Northern Russian accent to enunciate English would be difficult, but not impossible.
Five placed his book down on the blanket that their mother had brought up for them to sit on and showed Feliks his notebook. "This is the Time Dilation Equation." He said, pointing to a relatively short and simple-looking group of symbols and numbers.
Feliks squinted and pressed his paw next to Five's finger to point something out. "What is the triangle for? Is geometry?"
"Is it geometry. And the triangle is the symbol for relative time. The t stands for proper time, the v2 is velocity, and the c2 is the speed of light squared."
"Ah."
"You're not getting any of this, are you?"
"Am thinking not- ah, I meant I am thinking not-, but I enjoy hearing you talk about what you like. I attempt to remember because it is important to you, da?"
Five gave the cat one of his small, but bright smiles. "Yeah, it is. But not as important as you, you hairy nuisance." He combed his fingers down the immaculate, snowy fur and got a purr in response.
"Well da, of course not. I would have to remind you quite unpleasantly if you thought that silly numbers were more important." Feliks replied, his glacier eyes sparkling mischievously.
