The Monsterhunter

The first day

If I really admit it I was kind of nervous, but What the hell, Let's get this shit over with. From all the movies and books that I read I came to realize that the first day of school was the worst of all, especially when all the other student thought that I was a human. Nana woke up after me and headed straight for the bathroom, she looked really tired, since we stayed up till late to watch movies. I decided to dress simple, a pair of ripped black jeans and a white large t-shirt. I liked wearing large and comfy clothes and they hided really well the knives on each side of my upper body. What can I say I was a paranoid person, especially since I didn't have that much contact with so many supernaturals at once.

Me and Nana had almost the exact schedule, except that I had a few fighting classes. She hated fighting and wanted to become a skilled healer. 

Our first class was werewolf History. Which I thought it would be pretty interesting, we took two seats at the end of the class next to each other. Right then the teacher entered and told us to sit down. He was tall, almost six feet tall, but very old, almost part 80 I guesses. God why do all the history teachers are old?, or maybe just the ones that I met. He introduced himself, his name was Raphael of Terrapack, I didn't know that pack but heard of it, and he said he was teaching for almost 50 years, Jesus doesn't he get bored. But then he asked us to present ourselves to get to know each other. I hated being the center of attention. Each student stood up and said their name and where they were from. There were all types of natural supernatural beings, we were around 30, so it took a while before they got to me. When my turn came, I stood up and said with confidence:

" My name is Khristiana Moondust and I am from  a small town about a hour and a half from here, I would tell you the name but you will not know where it is, due to the fact that it is a human town." I said mocking them a bit and sat down. Some shot me glares, but others seems impressed with my confidence, being just a weak human being.

As the day went on we had to introduce ourselves at every class witch was quite boring. I was really excited for my first class of fighting. I went to change and than went out to the field where the class was. I saw others looking funny at me, like Why was this human here?. Our teacher came, he was a large demon with brown hair and grey horns, but damn he was young and looked so good, the other females could agree as they were staring at him.

To my surprise he didn't asked us to introduce ourselves, and started pairing us to fight each other. My luck I was the only one left without a partner, he watched me and said:

" I think the human can stay this one out." he said with disgust.

" I don't think so, I want to fight, unless anyone here is too afraid to go against me." I said mocking them, and earned myself a few glares from the others. The teacher looked surprised but said:

" Ok, you will fight with me, and be aware I will not go easy on you just because you are a human."

" Fine by me." I said not being scared of him.

Each pair started fighting, while the others watched, Some were good, some were weak, but the demons had the upper hand on this one, with their power of reading the adversary's next move. But for me was going to be easy since they couldn't read my mind, another power that I didn't quite understand. Finally it was my turn, against the fucking teacher, greaaaattt.

" Let's see what you can do, little human." He said mocking me. But I said back:

"It would be my pleasure." I said not a bit fazed by his comment which angered him.

We circled each other. I knew the first thing I will do is to find his weak spot. He launched at me, and tried to punch me but I knew his movement, so I ducked swiftly and hit his shin, which caught his by surprise. I didn't waste any time and started to box his face, he blocked me and threw a punch at my stomach. It hurt like a bitch, it brought me on one knee. He backed up a little bit and launched at me. Bingo I found his weak spot, he had weak ankles. So as he ran toward me I tripped him and got on top hitting his face, he growled and turned me and somehow grabbed my head in between his legs, and he pressed. Then I couldn't breathe, damn he was strong, no matter how much I tried I couldn't get away from his grip, but I hold my ground, not wanting to give up, until he said:

"Tap out!" I did as he said not having any air left. He let me go as I coughed roughly and stood up, dizziness taking a little bit over me as I steadied myself. I saw that most of them were impressed with me but others just smirked at me as I was sitting up. I lost, I swear to god that ego of mine will eventually be my downfall, I needed to concentrate more, I said to myself.

"That was good until you lost focused and that gave me an opportunity to bring you down. Thought I might say that was pretty good for a human, how did you find my weak spot so easily?" he asked curiously, and people stared at me for the answer.

" Your body is very large, but your ankles had a hard time keeping up so that was pretty obvious. And how you reacted when I hit you in the shin." I said earning a surprised face from him and the others.

"That is all for today! Class dismissed!" he said loud enough I think the people in the castle heard. "Not you Moondust!", God I am starting to think that I ran out of luck.

" Yes, sir", I said, while the other students shot me pity glanced.

When the other students were out of sight, he said to me:

" I couldn't read you, why is that?", damn I hopped it would be any other reason for him to keep me.

"Maybe because I am Human?" I said as innocently as I could. It seem to work because he let me go after that.

I decided to keep my powers a secret until I had no choice but to use them.

I wade my way back to the castle, because dinner was being served in like 2 hours and the headmaster had an important announcement to make. I took a shower and decided to go dressed exactly like this morning, because I was lazy to search for other clothes. I met Nana along the way, she was just finished with some strange potion class that was especially for the witches. It kinda freaked me out when she said she made an explosion. The dining room had multiple tables, and at the end of the room on a step higher were the teachers table. The room was huge and I think It was because it fitted all the students from all years which was pretty impressive. We sat down near a few others from our year, some even said hi to me, which was strange.

When we all sat down the old headmaster came forth and cleared his throat to get out attention. He started speaking in an solemn voice and said:

" Good day to you, I am sorry to keep you from your food, but I have an important announcement to make. Next week we will have a very important guest visiting, the Demon King." after he mentioned that the room was deadly quiet, because all feared the demon king, although he was young he was strong and respected. He killed many monsters, it is said that his skill cannot be compered. He is an expert.

" He will be staying here for the next weeks to see if this school is run properly, him being one of our biggest investors. I expect you to be on your best behavior and not be late for his arrival on Monday at two o'clock in the afternoon. All students must be present. Thank you. Enjoy your food." and with that he ended the announcement. 

We ate in silence and then went to bed. Damn I was fucking exhausted, I collapsed, that teacher  got me pretty hard, I learned that his name was Damien, nice name tho. 

Since tomorrow I had only two courses, I thought to go into the small town near the school to ride my motorbike, because I missed riding it, even though it was just two days, I needed a small release. God I loved my motorbike.
