The Ambush

Uhhhhh I didn't want to go back to school, I though as my cat alarm clock woke me up on Monday morning. I packed a few things in my backpack and of course the monster book which I came to bond with very much. I decided to go with some tight black leggings and a tight long sleeved sports blouse. I put the daggers at my waist and headed outside. I said my goodbyes and put my earphones in, blasting music and then my helmet on. I started the engine and speed off. 

The ride was so calming, and to my surprise I would actually arrive early than expected, so I decided to stop by the hill that I didn't bother to learn the name. I left my backpack inside the seat of my motorbike and went up the hill with just my phone and earphones. I sat down and just starred at the view, and I don't know how much time passed, but I decided to head down, not to be late for the King's big speech in the dining hall at two o'clock. I pulled out my earphones and started to head back. That's when I saw them, coming out of the woods, monsters.

SHIT, they were a lot, a whole hoard , if I let them through they will murder everyone in town. I knew what I had to do, I had to fight them all. At this point  I just hoped to make it out alive. 

I launched myself at them to get their attention then, when I knew they saw me I darted to a small clearing, I stopped and turned around. They were coming fast, all of them. 

As they circled me, the battle started. I burned the few in front and then launched my daggers to cut a few legs and then teleported on each of their heads and slicing them open. Five were down, more to go. Their number seemed  to never end but I kept going burning, cutting, but I could fell the exhaustion taking it's toll on me slowly but surely. I needed to think of something fast.

Then it hit me, my dad told me that if I could concentrate very hard I could teleport a whole area around me, well looks like I have something. As I was thinking, a monster plunged his sharp foot in my shin, the pain was unbearable. At that moment my mind got black imagining one thing, an ocean, I could feel the power in me growing, I was slightly floating and the air formed a tornado around me and the monsters to block their exit. My daggers were fling around together. And then I felt it the familiar dizziness and I pull my whole body and mind on that feeling.

Then it happened, I teleported, want to know where? at the bottom of the ocean, water all around me. Monsters struggling to breathe as they started falling down lifelessly. I was dizzy and my leg was hurting really bad. I could hear the sound of my heart pounding in my ears. Even though I was in pain I felt strangely at peace, well that lasted until I realized I couldn't breathe anymore. And then a sudden though occurred  to me, if I didn't get to a healer stat, I could die and then I could think of one person. And I teleported again.

Nana's POV:

It was already two o'clock and Khris was nowhere to be found, I began to feel really anxious. Where was she? The King was about to start his speech. Just then our principal started speaking:

" Are all the students present, as I said all the students must be present for the King's speech?"

Lucinda butted in: " No, we are missing one, that lazy human."

You could clearly see the King's fury that a lowly human like Khris could skip his speech. Just then I heard it. A lout thud near me. I gasped at what I saw.

Back to my POV:

I landed on a hard surface, my head was spinning and I was exhausted, and I exclaimed without thinking:

" Motherfucker, that hurt like hell. Fucking monsters. I swear I had enough of them." Just then I saw Nana staying over me, and I said: " Oh hi there, thank god I thought I was going to teleport somewhere else, help me up, will you, I can't feel my leg?" God it hurts like a bitch. When I regained my balance, I looked around seeing everyone staring at me, shit then it hit me I was in the dining room, where the King will tell us his speech. I said innocently:

" Am I interrupting something?"

" Yes, you are." Snapped the nasty bitch at me.

" Well then I must take my leave. Carry on." What was I saying, did I have a death wish?, well to late to take it back now. And with that I turned to Nana and she said:

" I need herbs to heal that." she pointed to my leg.

" Okey dokey!" And with that I teleported to the herbology class and collapsed on a chair. Nana started to heal my wound and said that it will take a while. I was so tired and I fell asleep on that chair and when I wake up it was almost night. To my surprise I was in my bed with Nana near me inspecting my wound.

" It will take a few days to fully heal, but you will live."

" Thank you! How much was I out? And hoe did I end up here?

"You slept almost three hours it is almost time for the after ball, and I had professor Damien carry you here.", well that was nice of him. "Get up sleepy head we are already running late to the ball, You missed the speech so al least go to the ball."

"I don't know Nana, I strongly think I should miss it."

" You actually can't, because the King himself asked for your presence."

" What? Why?" I screamed.

" Well you made quite a spectacle teleporting in the middle of his speech. Everyone saw your power now so you made them curious."

" Great, just great. I will go but I don't think I can stay the whole thing." I had another reason, that I didn't want to go, I had to get to the library asap.

When the monster pierced my leg I had a vision, I saw myself around flames facing an entrance and I saw on the other side a purple scenery with tall buildings and houses, or at leased that is what they looked like, almost like a city, an abandoned one. I needed to find that town's name and origin fast. It could be a clue, to lead me somewhere their queen should be. I have to get back to work. Something must be wrong with me, I am now refreshed just thinking I might have a chance to find their queen.

But first I had to get to that ball, I am pretty scared of what the king might do to me. After so rudely interrupting his speech. God please help me!
