I woke up with a start. 'Some dream..' I thought as I walked down the winding halls. I slid my hands down the cold, hard surface to steady myself.
When I reached the Living Room, I saw Chloe, sitting there, just staring at the tv. I stood there, trying to decide what to make of this. Finally, her gaze snapped to me as I walked into the kitchen.
"Where's Trunks?" I asked.
"The bathroom."
"Yeah, like I'd believe that. Really where is he?" I demanded.
"Okay, okay. Vegeta wanted to talk to him so they went into the backyard." Now that, seemed more reasonable.
"Okay, do you eat?" I asked, rummaging through the pantry.
"Yeah, I'm not weird. We eat more than Saiyans do!" She said, shocked.
"Oh, you hungry?" I asked and she nodded.
I made us both peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I gave her hers and she looked at me funny.
"I know you told him." She simply grinned.
"Told who?"
"Tapion. Last night when he came to comfort you."
"No!! He came to give me his ocarina! I didn't tell him anything!"
"Sure." She said sarcastically.
"I promise! Please, don't hurt him! I didn't say anything!"
"Well now I feel somewhat bad.." She said.
"What?!"
"It's too late. Go to the basement, you'll see what I mean." She smiled.
I ran straight to the basement when I ran into Trunks.
"Midnight?" He asked.
"Come with me." I said.
"Where?"
"The basement."
"Why?"
"I'm scared!" I lied.
"You've never been scared before."
"Just come!" I yelled.
"Okay, okay." He said and we walked down.
I opened the door slowly and saw Chloe standing there.
"How did you..?"
"Instant transmission." She cut me off, but it didn't phase Trunks.
"Trunks sweetie, can I tell you something in the hall?" She asked and they walked out.
I slowly crept down the stairs, every inch of my body ready to jump at the slightest sound. When I looked around the corner, I screamed.
Tapion lay motionless, pale as a ghost and eyes glazed staring at me in a silent plea. I cried when I saw Trunks's sword, Tapion's old sword, wedged in his chest, straight through his heart.
I took another step and heard a splash. I looked down and saw the pool of blood that surrounded him. I turned away, resisting the urge to throw up.
I ran up stared and attacked Chloe. Trunks pulled me off and held me back.
"What's wrong with you, Midnight?!" He yelled.
"She killed him!"
"Who?!"
"Tapion!" I rasped out in a silent whisper that was mostly breath.
He looked down at Tapion,"She may not have." He said simply.
"She did! She always threatened to!" I screamed.
"No, I know she didn't." He defended.
"Thanks, baby." She said and kissed his cheek.
He smiled, then grunted. I looked down to see her own sword, peeking out from his stomach. She had stabbed straight through. She ripped it out and he fell dead.
"Why are you doing this?!" I screamed.
"For revenge." She said simply.
I heard a door creak and close.
I snapped my eyes open, and woke up. I saw Chloe at the end of my bed. I was sweating and crying, but mostly confused.
"What're you doing here?!" I asked,
"I heard you scream so I came to check on you."
"Yeah right! It was just a nightmare."
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"No!" I yelled at her.
"Did you tell Tapion last night?" She asked.
"No, he gave me his old ocarina and that was it, I swear!" I burst out in tears.
"Okay, relax. I believe you." She smiled.
"Wait.." I muttered,"GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" I screamed.
"What?" She asked shocked.
I threw my pillow at her,"Get out! Get out now!" I screamed and she dodges the pillow.
"I'm not the bad guy," She smiled,"Well, not the main one. He'll be here soon enough. Then you're all good as dead."
She smiled and walked out if the room, slamming the door.
I shook out of fear, and anger. 'He'll be here soon enough.' That made me shiver all over. Who was he? And what did he want...?
