(3rd Person POV)

Trunks and Tapion ran inside, they stared in horror at the dead Terrain. Chloe lay next to Midnight, close to death. Midnight was gone, it was too late for her. Tapion cradled Midnight's body like she was his child and he carried her back to the ship.

Trunks lay at Chloe's side, he brushed back a strand of her chocolate brown hair behind her ear and he kissed her forehead.

"I almost lost you," he murmured before picking her up bridal style and carrying her to the ship as well.

Trunks flew the ship home and Tapion knelt next to Midnight's body in a silent plea for her. A plea for her to come back.

They arrived home with the bad news... Midnight passed. Chloe laid in bed for a week, still in her comatose phase. She didn't eat, or drink, or do anything but dream. She saw many lives- her lives- flash before her eyes and she saw Midnight's as well. Cursed with this burden, she wished that Midnight was the one alive.

Chloe soon woke up, they buried Midnight in a makeshift grave. Her headstone lay in the back of Capsule Corp. Chloe and Trunks stayed well away from each other. Tapion and Chloe grew closer. Midnight's death caused a sad change in the family and nobody was the same.

(Tapion's POV)

"Chloe, help me with this," I called.

Chloe looked up from her depressed glare at the floor and scooted across the couch to me.

"What's up, Tapion?" she asked.

"I-I-How did-what-are..." I couldn't find the words.

"What is my backstory?" she replied as if it wasn't a sweat.

I stared at her with a hint of bewilderment.

"I read minds." she said.

I nodded.

"I started as a child on the planet Castelo. We worked from 4:00 in the morning, Earth time, until 10:00 at night. We all were equal and worked equally, even the smallest children and the oldest adults worked in the fields and factories. Some taught, all kids went to a special school from 8:00 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon. Life was a joy on that planet until Freeza came. Freeza killed all the adults and took all the kids under 18 as slaves. I was young, but I was strong. My mother told me that I was the strongest of my kind, I had special godly blood in me. Anyways, Freeza thought that I was a weapon of mass destruction. He raised me as his daughter, and I grew up as cold-hearted as Vegeta. In fact, I was even sent to look for Vegeta when he escaped but I ended up escaping as well." she rasped, a faraway look coming into her eyes. "I crashed in Namek and had to stay until my ship was fixed, then Vegeta and Freeza followed me to search for the Dragon Balls. I quickly left, leaving behind a nice surprise for Freeza. Then he sent Terrain, my adopted brother from Lahjiinewa, to catch me. Goku got to Freeza first, but Terrain still searched for me after Freeza's death. I fled to Earth, where I planned to find Goku and ask him to help me."

She stopped abruptly. I looked at her with curiosity. She shook her head, stood to her feet and walked out of the room. Before she left she put her hand on the doorframe and looked back at me with a sad smile on her face. "Guess I didn't need Goku after all."

She left without hesitation, and I soon heard the door close and saw her walk among the crowd in the streets.

Trunks walked in, a smile replaced his solemn look and he plopped down onto the couch next to me.

"The Dragon Balls." he blurted.

"What about them?" I asked.

"Midnight can be brought back, only if we had the Dragon Balls!"

My eyes grew wide and I smiled. "What are we waiting for?"

We both leapt to our feet and out of the Capsule Corp. building.

"One problem..." I stopped," Phoebe is gone. Again."

Trunks smiled even wider. "Smart girl."

Suddenly I realized what went on in her head. She knew what to do, she knew who to find and she knew what to find.

Trunks and I glanced at the radar and started the trek. Started the trek to bring back Midnight.
