When the Pevensie children returned from the country after the war, everyone could see they had changed far more than the other children who'd been evacuated. They all had this maturity to them, even little Lucy, and seemed to have some kind of darkness in their eyes that hadn't been there before. It was something many had seen in the eyes of the men returning from the war but to see it in children was unnerving to most everyone who saw it, most of all their parents.
