(this will be when Dalen's closet took place and I'm going to say it's been about 1 year since vax's true death)It's time. It's the wedding. Keyleth was...nervous. But, excited! Keyleth arrived in Whitestone a few days early. She arrived to spend time with her best friend, her sister, and with the town in general. Early on the first morning, she sat against the Suntree, meditating and talking with the tree. Most of the day was spent catching up with the tree, telling fun stories and sad ones too. Soon a sound came over her earring."Keyleth darling? You're in town right?" the voice of her good friend (and practically sister), startling her out of her conversation. "Oh uh yes! What can I do for you...?" she asked, trying to focus on the woman."Wonderful. Can you run to the boutique to get my dress? I have a million other things to plan and deal with. When you get it back to the castle can you take it out and make sure everything is alright?", she asked. She rambled on whilst explaining what she needed to be done. Keyleth agreed, running through the instructions she was given."Yes, I can do that. I'll see you later tonight," she spoke into the magic earring. She stood from the tree, dusting off her body. She gave the tree a quick hug and whispered a sweet goodbye. Off she went, looking around town for the shop. Eventually...she was lost. She sighed and kicked the ground, though she was shocked to see she barely missed a small blackbird. A young raven, the young woman felt a small pang in her heart reminding her of her long-dead lover. She leaned down to the bird, tears brimming her eyes, scooping it up. It chirped at her and fluttered around her head, seemingly to guide her somewhere. Thinking this bird was leading her to some sort of danger, she followed close behind. Many turns were made, many streets lead down, till finally, it stops on top of a sign. The sign read 'Wiggie's Wedding Dresses'. This was the place. The bird hopped around the sign and chirped happily at her. She smiled at the bird, thanked it, and opened the door to hear a bell."Hello hello. How can we help you at Wiggie's Wedding Dresses?" said a very excited woman. She had mid-length brown hair, very pale and dewy skin, lots of faint freckles, and green eyes that almost glowed with excitement. The loud question startled the tempest.<br />"Hi uh I'm a friend of Lady Vex'ahlia, Keyleth of the Air ashari. She sent me to get her dress and bring it back to the castle? I'm not sure if you were told-" she rambled on. The short woman assumed to be 'Wiggie', stopped her. "Yes, I was told. Wait here ma'am." and with that, the woman disappeared into the back room. After a few moments, the tall woman began to get anxious and impatient. But soon enough the dress came out and was placed into her hands. (In a dress bag, of course) With the dress in hand, she turned to leave, hearing a soft "enjoy!" on her way out. Once the door was closed, she rushed back to the castle to ensure the dress stays safe.
As soon as she arrives, she is let in without issue. The guards and staff know her enough by now. She walks in and heads up to her room. She walks in and closes the door most of the way. She lays the dress on the freshly made bed and unzips the bag. It was perfect, the gold accents working perfectly with the dusty gray-blue.
She saw the sleeve things, the lace, the sheer fabric, and the slight flower pattern along the edges. She traced her fingers over the dress, some of the fabric was silky while some were rougher. She flipped it over and looked at the zipper and the corset sewn in. It was...Beautiful. She wouldn't mind if I just....Held it up to my body. Right? Yeah, she wouldn't mind. She wouldn't even know. She was busy and wouldn't be back for a while. She walked over to her full body mirror, holding her body against the dress. She thought it might look pretty on her. She got an idea, though she had to be sneaky. She peeked down the hall, seeing no one. Closing the door quietly, ensuring no one heard. She slowly slipped out of her own clothes, taking a wet cloth and running it over her body to ensure she wouldn't get the dress dirty. She took a dry towel, drying her body.
Once fully dry she slipped into the wedding dress. She and Vex were essentially the same size, minus height. She slipped into the dress, using her grasping vines to zip her up and lace up the corset. The dress, though meant for the shorter woman, it still fits her lovely. Obviously meant for the train to trail behind her, but on her, the train was much smaller. She looked in the mirror and was astonished.
She felt so....pretty. She twirled with her eyes closed when suddenly she felt a hand on hers. She nearly jumped out of her own skin, she whipped around to see nothing. She thought she had imagined it. When she looked at herself in the mirror, her face paled more than its natural colour. In the door behind her, through the reflection, she thought she saw her deceased lover. But in fact, it was her lover's twin. She whipped around, tears once again brimming her eyes.<br />Her jaw dropped open and closed as if she wanted to say something but she couldn't muster more than, "Vex, I'm so sorry."
The Lady of Whitestone just looked at her. "Darling it's okay. I figured you'd want to try it on. It looks marvelous on you. So I'm assuming nothing's wrong?" she walked over to her friend, slowly inspecting each aspect of the dress. She nodded.
"Darling, can you please turn?" Vex asked. Keyleth turned and waited while she inspected her dress. Keyleth spent this time trying to calm herself enough to not cry. Deep breaths being a key factor in calming herself. She eventually turned to her lover's twin.
"Look...Vex. I'm so sorry, I promise I cleaned myself and made sure I was fully dry before I put it on. And-And I didn't stretch it out! I just...", she sighed, "I just wanted to see what I might've looked like if Vax and I...got married." she stammered out in a softly sad voice. Vex made eye contact. "Darling it's okay, you look lovely. Here, dry your eyes." she handed her a handkerchief, "I'll give you 20 more minutes in the dress then why don't we go get a late lunch. We can chat about what you would've wanted at yours and Vax's wedding." She said in an encouraging and non-threatening tone.Keyleth's face lit up, drying her eyes. Vex walked out and closed the door, just heading down the hall to her room. Keyleth pinched her cheeks, nose, and lips to give them a more rosy appearance. She looked in the mirror, smiling again. Again she felt a hand but on her waist this time. She looked in the mirror and saw someone behind her. The love of her life, Vax'ildan.<br />She once again whipped around for the third time, the fear of giving herself whiplash present in her mind. She reached up to him, softly touching his face. "You sent the raven, didn't you? God, I missed you!" She hugged him tightly. He wrapped his arms around her waist, "I've kept my eye on you, my love. You are doing so well. So very well." He buried his face into the crook of her neck. He pressed soft kisses on her neck and shoulder. He stood up, gripped her waist, and pulled her into a long-awaited kiss. The kiss was filled with pure romance and longing. "I love you." And with that, he was gone. She watched him, poof, into just feathers, staring at the feathers for a little too long. She soon shook out of her state, slowly unzipping the dress and undoing the corset. She slipped out, put it back in the dress bag, and put her clothes back on. She hung the dress up and walked out the door. Once meeting up with Vex, they left to grab lunch.~Fin~
