Delilah’s P.O.V.
After school, Becca’s room
We dug through practically every outfit she had, and still came up empty handed. I sighed and leaned against the wall. I was getting the start of a headache, and it was suddenly a lot of energy to stand full-on.
“Maybe you have something, Lil Dee,” Blake suggested.
“I… I might. Stay here, Sissy,” I said. I prepared myself to run from the room and grab a dress quickly, when Blake spoke again.
“I’ll come with you.”
“Um…. But… My room’s not unpacked, Blake… I don’t… Know…” I panicked.
“It’s fine, it’s an emergency. We have like… An hour.”
“GO!” Becca yelled.
We ran from the room in a panic and down the stairs to my room.
It was mostly unpacked, aside from a few books and my posters, but the idea of Blake being in my room alone with me had me panicked and worried.
“So uh… This is my room.”
“It’s so… Wow.”
“Um… Thanks.”
I had deep purple walls with black butterflies, flowers and vines. My bed was a very low full sized bed that was practically on the floor. There was a border of twinkle lights around it, with song lyrics scattered everywhere. I had an entire wall that was full of black beautifully written lyrics to various songs. In the middle was “Stay strong and Carry on” with tiny black butterflies spreading from the center out to the corners.
My covers were messy from sleepless tossing and turning, and my pillows were strewn across the room. My purple laptop was sitting on my desk, and a box was sitting next to it. I flipped a light switch that showed my walk-in closet to the left.
“So uh… I’ll go look for a dress…”
“Yeah, that’s uh… A good idea.”
I walked over to my closet and started to pick through things carefully when I spotted the dress I was going to give Becca for her birthday. I figured since it was an emergency, I’d have to give it to her early.
“I was going to give this to her on her birthday… But I figure…”
“I got it,” he said.
“Are you… Okay? You seem… Upset.”
“I’m fine… Just… I feel like… Something’s off. I mean, there’s something I’m missing, and being in the dark about it is driving me FUCKING crazy.”
I tried to move to his side quickly, but one of my bracelets snatched onto the door frame to my closet, and snapped off, sending large beads everywhere.
“Do you need some help?” He stood to come help me.
“No, no I got this. It happens all the time. I’m just uh… Clumsy.” I scooped up the beads and turned into the closet. I re-strung them, and tied the knot quickly before sliding it back on my wrist. I turned around to face Blake standing almost directly behind me. “OH! Blake, you scared me…”
“I saw that, you know.”
“What? It’s not like I was hiding it.”
“You were standing in the closet.”
“So? That doesn’t mean I was hiding.”
“Delilah. Don’t lie to me.”
“We don’t have much time left, they’re probably about to come down and figure out where we are…”
