Chapter 2

"Maliyah !! Get your ass out of bed right now ! I shouldn't be waking you up, you're gunna be 15 tomorrow and you need to learn to wake yourself up" my mom yelled, waking me at 8:20 am . "UGHH" i yelled back at her. I got up and went downstairs . I sat down and ate the breakfast my mom made for me, but i wasn't really in the mood for it. "Why are you waking me up so early ?" i asked. "Well if you wanna spend your day doing what you want then you need to finish unpacking your things first" she told me . I got up, turned off my phone and started to unpack all of my things that i didnt get to put away the past few days .

After about 2 hours, i was finally done w. everything that i needed to unpack. I showered , and then got ready for my day. I put on a black skater skirt, a grey crop top and sandals. I curled my hair, brushed my teeth, and kissed my mom goodbye. As i was walking out the door, there was a girl walking up the driveway. She looked like my age and she was really pretty . "Oh hey!" the girl said. "Uhh hii " i said. "Im evelyn. Your new neighbor! Nice to meet you" she said with a big smile . "Nice to meet you too! Im Maliyah" i said . "This is my boyfriend, Juan " she said, gesturing towards the boy next to her . Juan and i waved at each other . "Well i gotta go. Nice to meet you!" I said walking away . I started to walk to the park, and i was on my phone of course. I look up and all i see is a boy on a skateboard going really fast, about to hit me . I scream and move out of the way. The boy stops and starts laughing. "Im sorry. Are you okay " the boy asks , still laughing, but a little more serious. "Yea i mean i guess . Its okay. I have to go" i said walking away fastly . He came up behind me, and jumped in front of me , stopping me from walking. "Hi my name is Steven Fernandez . Whats yours?" He asked . "Maliyah. Can i go now?" I said, embarrassed from the whole screaming thing. "Yes . Yes you may. Ill go with you. Where exactly are you going?" Steven said . "Idk just for a walk i guess. Im new to this area , i just moved here with my mom a few days ago so i don't really know whats around here" i explained to Steven. "Come with me. We can go to the skatepark" he told me. "I don't know how to skate, and i don't even know you ." I said. Should i go? I don't even know this kid. Maybe he's older than me , why am i calling him kid? Ugh what if he's weird . "C'mon ill teach you, it'll be fun" he said trying to convince me. "Fine" i agreed . "Even though i don't know anything about you , besides the fact that your name is Steven ". He began to walk so i followed him.
