This intro will be separated into a section for first-time readers of my stories and returning readers. A line of '-----' will keep them apart to limit confusion. We'll start with the first time readers...
Welcome! I've been writing stories since June of 2021 and I love answering any questions people may have so don't feel bad about asking! I try to write my stories in a fun way that stirs up all sorts of emotions. My pronouns are he/him and the very kind people on this app have allowed me to fulfill one of my dreams :) This is a spin-off book of my other published story, The Seventh Avenger. I'll try my best to explain things along the way in this book but if you want a more cohesive experience, you'll want to read the original book. If you don't have time to read the whole book, just read through chapter 2.20 and you'll know all you need to know. Then you can read further while you wait for updates if you want. This book can still be enjoyed as a standalone experience but it would be more fulfilling if read with the original. The description section of this book gives a decent recap but I'll try to give a tiny recap if you want to dive right into this book...
The original character (OC) in The Seventh Avenger (TSA) and this spinoff book is Andrew Williams and he has a suit of armor similar to Captain America's. His codename is Peacekeeper and he's sometimes referred to as Peacekeeper in the story when wearing the armor. He got his powers when Hydra captured him and his childhood friend Bucky Barnes and forced them to take their supersoldier serum. Andrew's always been stronger than Steve but he'd never tell Steve that. However his armor will not always be present and the suit in the cover image is *not* his usual armor. Andrew has been friends with James 'Bucky' Barnes since he can remember and they befriended Steve Rogers when they saved him from a bully in the first chapter of the main TSA book.
It's currently 1944 in the middle of world war 2. We're about 3/4 of the way through the first Captain America movie in the MCU if that helps you timeline-wise. Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Andrew, and the rest of the Howling Commandos are planning their attack on various Hydra (Nazi Science division) bases to try and end the war for good.
The United States government had gotten word of a dangerous Hydra explosive that had been developed right under their noses in New York. They called for Andrew but he convinced Agent Peggy Carter to break a few orders and come with him. Because of the sexism towards Peggy, Andrew refused to work with the SSR. He and Peggy continued to follow the case (again, breaking orders) and ended up beating the other agents to an undercover Hydra base. Once inside, they discovered that the explosives had been moved just before their arrival. The pair continued to look around and Andrew noticed a board on the wall with five pictures with red circles around the people in them...one of Steve Rogers dressed as Captain America, another of Bucky Barnes, Andrew in his Peacekeeper armor, Peggy Carter inside a European Ally base, and Howard Stark. Howard's had a rex 'X' through the circle. Andrew and Peggy considered the possibility of a Hydra Conspiracy (*wink*) inside the US government before having that building explode and fall on them.
The two eventually stop two scientists from blowing a hole in New York after being warned of 'Leviathan.' They returned to the home Andrew and Steve had used for a time before the war as Peggy's government provided apartment had been broken into and destroyed by a member of Leviathan, distinguished by his red 'x' shaped scar on his neck. Steve, Peggy, and Andrew had been in somewhat of a love triangle for quite some time now, but Andrew had always backed away when he wished he could do more with Peggy out of respect for Steve. After the battles, Peggy was left with a few injuries. She'd taken a shower and asked Andrew for help looking over her wounds. Things..."escalated" and they agreed to take 12 hours and live with eachother as if no one else existed because nothing was official between Peggy and Steve or Peggy and Andrew.
My stories have quite mature tones and get a little dark from time to time. This story will be pretty 18+ in terms of sexual scenes and fight scenes. If you're not into that, feel free to skip those. Or if the content makes you feel uncomfortable but you'd still like to know what happened in the chapter, I'd be happy to tell you in a comment on that chapter or a DM :) All characters look as they do in the MCU.
