"We're capable adults, right?" Andrew asked nervously.
"It's going to be easy" Peggy replied, equalling Andrew's unsure aura.
"Of course."
"Piece of cake."
Why didn't they check the number of bedrooms? Shouldn't that have been step one?! Now they had to share a bed unless someone wanted to take the couch and knowing Peggy and Andrew they weren't going to allow the other to do that. They could do this...no problem.
Peggy lay on her back, staring up at the ceiling. She'd tried to fall asleep but there was no point, her mind was too full and moving a hundred miles an hour. She'd folded her hands together on her chest and was completely zoned out of the world, trapped her own mind but allowing herself to be there. A few weeks ago, her heart was consumed by Steve and she loved it...but was it still that way? Did she want it to be that way? She could put the night she'd shared with Andrew, no matter how amazing, behind her, but that dance...that had felt different. Sex was great but you could only get so much from it. As far as Peggy was concerned, that dance was worth more than sex could ever dream of. Peggy hated this feeling. It was as if Steve and Andrew were playing an involuntary game of tug of war with her heart. Andrew yanking on one end trying to rip it out of Steve's firm grip. Andrew was...amazing. Kind, thoughtful, mischievous in the best way, occasional badass, and extremely protective of the people he cares for. But Steve, Steve was perfect. A great complement to Peggy. The only problem that swirled around in Peggy's mind: was 'perfect' perfect for her?
Peggy let out a defeated sigh and glanced at Andrew who was sprawled on his back and sleeping happily. She found herself smiling at the peaceful expression on his face. Peggy gently lifted his arm and scooted under before letting it fall around her. She curled up next to him and let out a soft happy groan. Peggy tucked her head into his shoulder and rested her arm and hand on his chest...
Andrew slowly awoke to soft pokes on the right side of his face. He smiled, listening to Peggy whispering about nothing to wake him up.
"If you don't get up, I'm leaving" she murmured quietly.
"No" Andrew whined sleepily, pulling her closer with the arm that she'd curled around his body last night. "Don't you dare."
"There he is" Peggy smiled up at Andrew, still refusing to open his eyes. "C'mon, rise and shine" she squeezed his chest to try and coax him up.
"Hey!" He giggled and grabbed Peggy's hand. "No squeezing before noon."
"Get up!" Peggy chuckled and wiggled around in bed.
"Y'know you got to squeeze me..."
"No mischief before noon" Peggy instructed, echoing Andrew's squeezing rule.
"That's not mischief, that's equality, Peg."
"We need to get up and--"
"Peggy Carter, there is nothing we have to do today. We are going to lay here until I deem it acceptable to leave, understood?"
"But--"
"But, nothing."
Peggy plopped back into her snuggle position with a huff.
"That's what I thought" Andrew snickered and Peggy smiled against his body. "See? Isn't this nice?" He sighed, holding Peggy close.
"I suppose" she mumbled with her eyes closed.
"You gotta relax, Peggy" Andrew teased and lovingly kissed Peggy's head as she rested on his shoulder. A soft chuckle escaped Peggy. "You enjoy that?"
"Mm-hm" Peggy groaned, reaching peak comfort.
