Don't fear the night
Said the darkness
Trying to make me
Feel alright.

Don't fear the nightmare
Said my mind
Even though it's
Far from fair.

Don't fear him
Said a voice
From deep within.
Don't fear his touch
At night in the light
So dim.

And yet I do.

I fear the night
with all its fright.

I fear the nightmare
that's so hard to bear.

I fear him.
I fear his touch.
His face so grimm
I want to swim
Away.

And yet I'm here
In the dim light
I fear.

I feel it everywhere
From head to toe
As he approaches me
His hand on my knee
