The human girl had just got through the door, dumping her keys in the wooden bowl and tossing her bag on the floor. Her mom was still at the hospital, so she wouldn't be back until later, meaning Aimee could relax.
She went upstairs and got into comfy pajamas, leaving her clothes on the back of her chair before going back downstairs to get some ice-cream. Chocolate was her favorite flavor, nothing could beat it. It may be boring, but to Aimee, it was like euphoria.
She flopped down on the couch and flicked through the boring television channels, it got so bad that she gave up and stalked upstairs, wanting to get the rest of her bedroom decorated. Aimee put down her ice-cream and pulled the rest of the boxes to the middle of the room, which were just miscellaneous possessions.
Photos, ornaments, fake plants. She took her time decorating, hanging her fairy lights across the frame of her bed. Soon enough, she was finished and she stood back to admire her work.
A sound of a door closing echoed throughout the house and Aimee went downstairs, seeing her mom sitting on the sofa. She smiled and sat down next to her. "How was your first day?" They both said at the same time, causing them to erupt in laughter.
"Stressful." "Not too bad."
They said at the same time, her mom smiled in delight. She was worried about her daughter, knowing how difficult it was for her to integrate into a new environment, but from Aimee's answer, it seemed like it wasn't a total disaster.
"Make any friends?" Her mom asked, slipping off her shoes and tucking her feet under her. Aimee nodded.
"I met some nice people, the Cullen family." She replied, her mom's face twisted in recognition.
"Are they Carlisle Cullen's adopted kids? He works at the hospital with me, I met him today, he talks highly of his children." She seemed to approve of the Cullen children, they weren't a bad crowd, from Carlisle's description. Hopefully Aimee had found some decent friends.
"They're all adopted, but they all have the same color eyes, it's an unusual color. Gold." Aimee reflected, Jasper's golden eyes suddenly filled her mind and she tried to forget about it. Focusing on what her mother was saying.
They talked for about an hour before they started dinner, a simple meal of pasta with a salad. The pair ate and cleaned up, Aimee sloping up to bed when it started getting late. She bidded her mom goodnight and went to her room, slipping under the covers and sighing in content.
Now she was alone, she could finally go through her thoughts and her day, it was a rush. Jasper was the only thing on her mind, until she finally fell asleep.
In another house, some distance away, was a boy who was pacing around his room, restless, impatient. He was waiting for night to become day, wanting another glimpse of the human girl he had met. Alice's vision had told them all enough, this girl was his mate, and nothing would stop him from wanting her.
Vampire relationships moved much more rapidly than human relationships. Even though they had all the time in the world, the process seemed to happen more quicker, a rush of passion. But it could prove difficult, a human and a vampire, Jasper would feel things a lot more quicker than Aimee. But he was willing to be patient, for her.
He just wanted his mate, he had been waiting for her for what felt like an eternity, and her to finally come around, it made Jasper excited but nervous at the same time. He'd never felt these emotions before, certainly not for Maria.
But it meant that Jasper would have to introduce Aimee to his dangerous world, and he was terrified of that. He didn't want to risk her safety, or risk not having a relationship at all. For the human might be terrified of the fact that they were blood-sucking monsters.
Jasper just hoped that she would be understanding and accepting, he didn't think he could handle it if she ended up hating him, or worse, being scared of him.
