Aimee decided that week, she'd hang out with Bella during lunch. But she seemed distracted, like she was looking for someone. Jasper nor any of the Cullens had turned up, as it was too sunny, they'd sparkle like disco balls.

"He's not here." Jessica said bluntly, sitting in the sun, "Whenever the weathers nice, the Cullens disappear. Their parents yank them out for hiking, and camping and stuff."

Aimee knew the actual truth, but didn't comment on anything.

"They'll be back soon, Jaz and his family usually hike in this weather." She said, but Bella looked disappointed. Angela quickly came up all excited.

"Guys, I'm going to the prom with Eric. I just asked him, I took control." She said with a big smile, Aimee liked Angela, so she grinned at her.

"Like the strong, independent woman you are." She said, and Angela laughed.

"Are you sure you have to go out of town?" Angela asked Bella sadly, who nodded, saying she had a family thing.

"We should go shopping in Port Angeles, before all the good dresses are gone." Jess said.

"Yeah, we can make a little trip of it." Aimee said, Angela nodded as the bell rang, and they all started getting up.

"Mind if I come?" Bella asked, and we all nodded.

"We need your opinion." Jess and Angela both said, as they all walked to class. By the end of the day, the sun had gone in and Jasper was waiting out in the parking lot to take Aimee home. She smiled when she saw him, and he grinned.

When she was near him, she kissed him on the lips and he smirked, trying to make it last longer. Aimee pulled away and said, "Me and the girls are going to Port Angeles, I forgot to tell you." She smiled guiltily, but Jasper looked worried.

"It gets dark quite early, I don't think it's safe." He answered, as he grabbed onto her hand, not wanting to let it go.

"I'll stay with the girls, we'll be fine in a group. I'll call you later, I promise." She said, kissing him on the lips once more and walking to Jessica's car, but Jasper still looked concerned.

Jess and Angela were trying to dresses, Aimee wasn't sure about prom yet, honestly she was just there to get dinner afterwards. Some men were being perverts outside the window, and Aimee flipped them off.

"That's disgusting." Bella muttered, and Aimee nodded in agreement.

"Guys what do you think?" Jess asked, looking at both girls who were sat down. Both gave vague answers.

"I really wanna go to this bookstore. I'll meet you guys at the restaurant?" Bella told all the other girls, but Aimee frowned. She stood up.

"I'll go too, you can't be too careful." She said, and Bella nodded in thanks. They walked out the store and strolled towards the bookstore, where Bella spent ages trying to find the book. By the time they got out, it was dark.

Aimee looked down at her phone and saw four missed calls from Jasper, and she swore under her breath. He was probably freaking the fuck out. As soon as she tried to call him back, her phone died.

"For fucks sake." She said, and Bella frowned.

"What's wrong?"

"Jaz left a bunch of calls, and my phone dies as soon as I tried to call. Lucky me." Aimee rolled her eyes as they walked down the alley way, but saw two men backtrack and start to walk in their direction. Aimee grabbed Bella's wrist and tugged her back, taking her another way. But it wasn't enough, they were soon surrounded by the men that stopped outside the shop.

"Isn't that the bitch that flipped us off in that store?" One asked.

"Yeah, I'll teach her a lesson." Another one spoke, and tried to touch Aimee's shoulder, who pushed him away. One got too close and she kneed him in the balls, making him double over in pain. Suddenly a car flashed into the lot, and it stopped suddenly.

A man got out, and Aimee recognised that it was Edward. All of a sudden, Aimee saw Jasper running from out the forest. In his desperation to get to Aimee faster, he ran straight from their home in Forks to where they were now. Bella got in the car and Edward drove away, leaving Jasper and Aimee to deal with the freaks.

Jasper crouched into a defensive position against Aimee, bearing his teeth to the one who tried to touch her.

"Is she your bitch? She's a real nice piece of-"

Jasper launched himself at the one who spoke, throwing him across the lot, and then he looked at all the other men, who backed away. Jasper walked backwards and stayed in front of Aimee, making sure none of the men looked at her.

He then turned around and swept her up in his arms, speeding away back the way he came. Aimee stayed silent, knowing that Jasper was trying to calm down. She tried to send relaxing emotions towards him, and it seemed to work. His face was less tense, his grip loosened, but not by much.

Once he made it back to his home, he sped into his room and then placed Aimee gently down on the bed, turning to watch the door warily.

"Jaz, I'm sorry I didn't answer your calls, my phone died when I tried to call you." Aimee said quietly, brushing her brown hair out of her face. Jasper still faced the door, still trying to assess for danger, "Jaz, no one is there."

He still didn't turn around, until Aimee stood up from the bed and stood in front of him. She placed his hand on her cheek, and his eyes stared at her, until his other hand grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, then he was hugging her.

"I'm okay, Jaz." She whispered, and she felt his grip on her tighten, but not to the point where it broke her bones. She pulled away and placed a hand on his cheek, swiping her thumb across it.

"When Alice told me of the vision, I was..." Jasper started to say, but he broke off, his eyes closing tightly, "I could feel what they wanted to do to you, what they thought about you. I wanted to kill them." He hissed.

Aimee's face twisted and tears welled in her eyes, but they didn't fall.

"I'm sorry for putting you through that." She whispered, Jasper shook his head and placed his forehead on hers, closing his eyes.

"I should never have let you go by yourself." He replied, his eyes going back to his bedroom door, as if the men would come storming in. Aimee looked at the door and then back at Jasper, he still hadn't let go of her.

"I'll stay here tonight, if you want?" Aimee offered, and Jasper instantly nodded, his eyes starting to lighten slightly. Aimee used Jasper's phone to call her mom, who agreed to let her stay over, then Jasper got out one of his shirts for her to sleep in.

Once she was ready for bed, she left the bathroom to see Jasper sat on the edge of the bed, his eyes still glued to the door. She walked forward and straddled his lap, tangling her fingers into his hair, taking his mind off any potential threat.

"I kicked one in the balls." She whispered, smiling a bit. Jasper's lips curved upwards slightly, but he was still wary.

"Remind me never to get in an argument with you." Jasper managed to say, Aimee laughed a bit and crawled off his lap, getting under the covers, Jasper quickly followed and wrapped her in his arms, holding her tight to his chest.

She closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly, but Jasper spent the whole night watching that door.
