Over the next several weeks, a lot had changed. Bella and Edward had finally gotten together, and she had met the whole family. Aimee was helping in the kitchen, Jasper was by her side. It had been the most awkward thing she had ever experienced, but Jasper wanted her there to help his control.
He found is easier with her at his side, so she stayed. Once the introductions had been over, they all went about their routines. And now it had led up to the Cullen clan about to start their baseball game. Alice was playing catch with Aimee, but wasn't throwing the ball with all her strength.
Alice had already had a warning from Jasper concerning that, and he was sending looks every so often to check.
Emmett was teasing the opposite team, and Aimee smirked, shrugging Jasper's jacket closer to her body.
"Jazzy, I don't think you're gonna win." She grinned as Jasper walked over to her with a playful smirk, he was swinging the bat around and it was making her drool.
"Darlin', you should have more faith in me." He whispered against her lips, before pressing his lips gently against hers. Rose grinned, and yelled at them.
"Alright lovebirds, let's get this show on the road!" Edward and Bella had just pulled up, and were walking towards the group. Esme took Aimee and Bella by the shoulders, holding them closely.
"I'm glad you're both here, we need umpires." She said with a grin, and Emmett grinned with a sly grin on his face, "She thinks we cheat."
"I know you cheat." Esme shot back with a smile, and Aimee laughed. The vampires all got into place, and Alice looked at the sky, before turning back with a smile. She could predict exactly when the thunder would come.
Rosalie readied herself, she's quite competitive, and once the ball shot towards her, she swung the bat and the sound of the ball colliding with it echoed. Rose dropped the bat and took off, Edward blurring towards the ball.
"I would play, but I'm scared the ball will knock me out." Aimee muttered, and all the Cullen family chuckled, as Rose was considered out by Bella. Carlisle then batted, both Edward and Emmett crashing like boulders trying to get the ball.
Jasper then went up, and he swung the bat around and did a trick, winking at Aimee before swinging the bat and hitting the ball. Aimee grinned and watched him blur across the field, until Alice's eyes clouded.
Suddenly, she straightened up and looked towards the forest, "Stop." Everyone then ran towards the two human girls. Jasper instantly took Aimee in his arms, looking worriedly towards the three vampires walking towards them.
Aimee's scent was masked by his jacket, so he prayed that they wouldn't notice it. Edward was about to take Bella towards the Jeep, but it was too late. "Get your hair down." He ordered, and Bella messed with her hair.
Rose frowned at the couple, "Like that'll help, I could smell her from across the field." She then moved to stand beside Aimee and Jasper, wanting to protect her adopted-twin's mate. Three figures emerged from the fog, two males and a female.
They stopped a wide distance from the Cullen family, assessing them. Jasper stayed by Aimee's side, his fingers tightening their grip on her waist. Aimee squeezed his wrist reassuringly, but he could feel her fear.
"I believe this belongs to you." The dark-skinned vampire in the middle said, holding up the ball in one hand. He threw it towards Carlisle, who caught it, thanking him. "I am Laurent. And this is Victoria," he gestured to the red-haired woman, "and James." he then tilted his head towards the blonde male.
"I'm Carlisle, this is my family. I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us." He said kindly, but had a firm tone behind it.
