Reaching beyond the Shadows

Chapter 4

Logan's POV

I woke up about 5 minutes ago in Kayden and his sister Ashers guest bedroom. It's around 2 in the morning i pretty sure. I felt thirsty so i start to make my way towards the kitchen without waking up Ashers friend Allee i presume.

That night at the party was super weird. The moment Asher walked in with Kayden felt unreal. She's beyond beautiful and i couldn't take my eyes off of her. I didn't know if Kayden and Asher were twins, cousins, or are in a relationship since I'm just starting to get to know Kayden.

We are both freshman this year playing on the field early. Most of the time freshman are benched until 2 half but they really need another good wide receiver and QB. Which helped Kayden and i out. Kayden and i just kinda clicked. I have a feeling we are gonna be buddy's but i don't know how I'm gonna handle being around Asher all the time.

I was watching her almost the whole time at the party. She just took my breath away, i don't know how to describe it. When the fight was let loose i took my eyes off of her for a second to asses the situation. At that moment a baseball player went straight into Jason another wide receiver on the team who is a sophomore gets pushed to the ground. I start running over there to get the baseball player i think his name was Jack off of Jason but it was to late. He goes to swing at Jason but ended up punching Asher. Thankfully Jason kinda saw he was gonna hit Asher and punched Jack at the same time.

I ran straight to Asher to help her. She couldn't keep her eyes open for a second and she had a split lip. I kept calling out to her and asking her if she was ok but didn't respond till i repeated it for a third time. Once she was out of her dazed state she started to stand up.

" wow hold on you shouldn't stand up you took a hell of a hit" i tell her with concern

As soon as her hands found mine i feel this electrical spark corse through my veins. I've never felt this before. I mean I've had sex with multiple girls throughout high school but nothing felt like this. Felt like a light. 

She clears her throat " I'm fine, but those two better get ready for some ass whopping" i was confused for a second on what she was planning to do. She was a tiny thing. I mean I'm over a foot taller then her, same with Jason and Jack. What does she plan on doing?

Kayden comes rushing over from the other side of the room frantic and concerned for this girl he came with.

"Asher?! Are you ok? What did they do? What did they hit? Oh I'm gonna kill them!" He asked holding his hands out to her to hold on to.

"Kayden I'm fine, he accidentally punched me but the other guy punched him midway so he didn't hit me as hard as he could've. After that this guy came to help me up." She tells him nodding towards me.

Kayden looks at her busted lip then looks at me with gratitude. "Thanks Logan, i owe you one" Kayden says to me. " no problem buddy but Carter might not be on the field tomorrow by the looks of this" i tell him. If  anything happens to my sister i would want someone to help her as well.

My sisters name is Sarah, she's 15 and looks like me but with glasses, boobs, longer hair, and is 5'5". She's super smart but really shy. She has a hard time making friends. Especially ones older then her: which is her whole grade. As an older brother I'm kinda protective over her and i don't care to admit it. She's my baby sister.

I look back to Jason and Jack who are being held back at this point by other guys from this party. If coach finds out that Jason got into a fight he's gonna be doing laps for weeks.

Asher then let's go of Kayden and My hands and starts walking right in between Jason and Jack and start yelling

"What the fuck is wrong with you people?" She scream. So this is what she was planning on doing for an ass whooping. This should be interesting. I stand up straighter with my arms cross over my chest. Prepared to intervene if i have to.
