My mom has been really worried about this wedding. She was worried about the marriage. She was unsure about a lot of things. My mom was also really stressed because the divorce trial just ended so she feels like she is rushing into things.
Mike had been sitting on the couch with a notepad, and I wondered what he had been doing. When I started to walk over there to ask him about what he was doing, he jumped up off the couch, and started walking towards the dining room table where my mom was sitting. He sat down in a chair next to her, and read aloud from the words he had written on his notepad. It said,
"I know you are worried, and I know you are scared. I didn't tell you this was going to be easy when I proposed to you, but I did make a promise to you. That promise was to keep you safe, to support you when times get rough."
He put the notepad down, he hugged her, and whispered something in her ear.
