ashley's pov:

i walked into my last class of the day and sat down. i checked the time, 2:19. only one more hour to go.

they teacher walked in and started teaching. for some reason today felt off, but I've been ignoring it.

we were in the middle of the lesson when the classroom phone rang.

teacher:hello?
she said answering the phone.

teacher:okay, ill send her over, thank you.
she said before ending the call.

teacher:ashley, they want you in the office
she said and i nodded and grabbed my stuff.

the teacher handed me a pass and i left. i walked down to the office and to the front desk.

ashley: hi, mrs.beth said someone wanted to see me
i said handing her my pass.

front desk lady: of course, follow me honey
she said standing up and leading me to the principals office.

front desk lady:take a seat and mr.cary will be in
she said smiling. i thanked her and sat down.

i went on my phone as i waited for the principal. i couldn't help but be nervous and anxious. i never get called down to the office.

a few minutes went by and mr.cary came in.

mr.cary:ashley, thanks for coming down
he said taking a seat infront of me.

ashley:no problem
i said smiling.

mr.cary:i wanted to talk to you about an opportunity that came up for you
he explained.

mr.cary:i had a meeting with another administrator in New Jersey, in the states
i nodded along so he would know i was listening.

mr.cary:they looked into your academics and noticed your grades were outstanding and wanted you to be apart of there exchange student program
he said.

i was shocked.

mr.cary:i know this is a big decision , so take your time and think about it, no pressure, ill give you the paperwork if you choose to go and all you have to do it fill it out and bring it back to office on monday

ashley:okay, thank you so much mr.cary

mr.cary:no problem, remember no pressure, we won't get mad at you for not accepting
he said making us both chuckle a bit.

ashley:thank you

mr.cary:your welcome, have a great rest of your day

ashley:you too
i said grabbing my stuff and leaving.

i walked back to class and sat down. all i could think about was if i should take this opportunity or not.

i spent the rest of period thinking about this.

the final bell rang and i quickly rushed out. i walked out and realized it was raining. i swear it was just sunny a minute ago. gosh london weather.

i took out my umbrella and started walking home.

once i got home i walked up to my room and changed out of my uniform. i got into some more comfy and started on my work.

i spent the next couple hours working on my work.

ashley:come in
i said after hearing a knock on my door.

mom:ash, dinners ready why don't you take a break and come down

ashely:i have to finish this ma,ill come down in a bit
i said.

mom:alright
she said closing my door.

sometimes i felt bad for not listening but work came first.  

an hour or so later, i decided to go downstairs and tell my parents about going to New Jersey.

ashley:mum, dad can we talk?
i said sitting down.

mom:sure hun, what's up?
said said turning off the tv.

ashley:mr.cary pulled me into his office and told me that they're was a school in new jersey that was really impressed with my grades and wanted me t be apart of there exchange student program
i explained.

dad:that's great ash, but new jerseys quite far don't your think

mom:jacob, it's a really good opportunity for her

ashely:you guys can read the letter if you would like
i said handing them the letter.

mom:this is definitely something to think about, we'll have to see
my mom said.

ashley:i have till monday to turn this in, so you guys have 2 days

mom:alright, we'll let you know
my mom said looking at my dad and nodding.

ashley:thanks, im going to go to bed goodnight
i said getting up.

mom:what about dinner
my mom asked as i walked up the stairs.

ashley:not hungryyy
i said walking into my room.

i turned my led lights on purple and headed to bed...
