ashley's pov:

once i was done unpacking i got into bed.

i tried falling asleep but i kept twisting and turning.

i was just staring at the wall when mattia threw something at me.

i grabbed it and sat up. it was a bottle of melatonin gummies

mattia:can't sleep?
he asked.

ashley:i think im just a little home sick, but thanks
i said.

i took some and then a few minutes later i fell asleep.

-a few days later-

it was currently 2 in the afternoon and i was just chilling in the backyard since the weather was really nice.

mrs.polibio:hey ashley
she said walking outside.

ashley:heyy

mrs.polibio:i was thinking about going shopping, would you like to come with?

ashley:sure
i said smiling.

mrs.polibio:great, ill meet you in the car
she said.

ashley:okayy
i said walking inside.

i walked down to our room and went to grab my purse.

mattia: where are you going?
he asked.

ashley: out, why?

mattia:with who?

ashley:uh just your mom
i said.

he didn't respond.

idk why but these past few days mattias been nosy and annoying. he's always got a snarky remark to what i say.

i just ignored it and grabbed my stuff and left.

we got into the car and made our way to the mall.

once we got there, we walked in and started going around some stores.

i ended up finding some cute stuff. i found some hoodies, sweats, and shirts. we walked up to the register and waited in line to pay.

i pulled out my wallet and took out some money.

mrs.polibio:oh no no, you don't need to pay, i got it

ashley:no no, it's the least i could do

mrs.polibio:don't worry about it
she said.

i felt bad for letting her pay, since she's already done so much for me.

after a few hours, we left the mall. i actually ended up getting a bunch of stuff. i had to buy stuff for school since i didn't have much to wear.

i started school in two days. so i had to get all my stuff ready. i already had pencils and stuff from back home, and i had my backpack. so i didn't need to buy much.

we got home and i walked downstairs.

mattia wasn't home i guess. good i got some time to relax a bit.

i put my bags down and sat on the bed and went on my phone.

i was just watching some tiktoks when i heard a bunch of voices. mattia and a few guys and a girl came down. im guessing they were his friends.

mattia:but yeah- oh i didn't know you were home yet

ashley:yeah, ill leave
i said getting up.

??: dude let the girl stay
the girl said.

???:yeah, we want to meet her
a short boy with fluffy hair said.

mattia:fine
he said.

ashley:i don't want to bother y'all or anything, ill head upstairs.

"stayyy"
they all yelled.

ashley: alright alright
i said laughing.

??:hi im aurora
the pretty girl said.

ashley:nice to meet you, im ashley
i said smiling.

aurora:mattias told us a lot about you
she said giggling.

i looked over at mattia and he rolled his eyes. i could tell he was embarrassed.

aurora:anyways, this is alejandro, that's alvaro, roshaun,robert, and kairi
she said pointing to them all.

"heyy"
they all said.

ashley:hi
i said waving.

aurora:so tell us about yourself
she said.

ashley:well, as you can tell im from london and im just here for school, but im 16 and yeah that's the basic stuff
i said chuckling.

aurora:niceee, will you be attending passaic valley as well?

ashley:yupp, im supposed to be here for the rest semester and then i have a choice to stay for the rest of high school or go back home
