Harry had a new plan in mind.

It was almost the last month of school and it was now or never.

He was going to ask Draco out, officially.

He was going to take Draco out to the lake again and talk to him...

And see how it goes from there.

Draco had been in a good mood since he came back from his trip to muggle London. He chose not to focus on how his father had banned him from his own home and when the things from his old room showed up in his dorm, he shoved it all into a bin and didn't look at them again.

Although he knew it was mostly a cover, Harry was happy to see him smile so much.

As the weeks went on, Harry found himself backing out of every situation where he could have asked Draco out.

Their study nights were filled with anxiety. Meals, classes, everything. The thought was always in the back of his mind.

And so finally, as June got closer and closer, Harry asked.

"Wanna go on a walk down to the lake?"

Draco, of course, said yes.

Draco walked next to Harry down the path to the lake. Neither of them spoke, staring up into the night sky and watching the stars as they passed. Occasionally, their shoulders would knock together and they would laugh at each other lightly.

They got to the lake and sat down on a small bench on the bank. They sat in silence, but not an awkward one. After a little bit, Draco looked over at Harry and noticed him rubbing a white mark on the back of his hand mindlessly.

"Harry," Draco spoke just over a whisper. "What's on your hand?"

Harry glanced down at his hands and glanced back up to Draco, covering the mark.

"Oh, it's just a scar. That detention punishment from Umbridge."

Draco looked confused, so Harry uncovered his hand and showed him the scar.

Draco reached out, grabbing Harry's hand in his and rubbing his fingers across the scar.

I must not tell lies

"I didn't know she did this to kids," Draco spoke softly, still holding Harry's hand.

"It was really just me. I was a real trouble maker that year." Harry laughed.

Draco looked concerned, running his fingers lightly over the scarred words on his hand.

"It was nothing, really," Harry said, moving his hand on top of Draco's.

Draco looked up and met Harry's gaze. They stayed, staring into each other's eyes. They watched each other's gaze flick around the other's face, taking in all of their features and admiring them.

Harry pulls his hand away from Draco's grasp and moves it to rest on the other boy's cheek.

Slowly, he leans in.

Draco met him in the middle, their lips connecting and moving together in sync.

It was like something broke inside of them both. Like a wall fell and they were able to show who they truly were. They weren't holding back anymore.

They separated, their foreheads pressed together. They both let out a small laugh, smiling wide as their hands interlocked again.

"Dray," Harry breathed. He pulled his head back, squeezing Draco's hands in his.
