Ashton's POV

"You're staring at her again?" Luke chuckles from next to me.

"I can't help it. Look at her." I sigh and turn around to see him smirking.

"You've had this crush on her for like what-seven years? Don't you think it's time to move on?" He asks me.

"Yes, but it's not that easy." I prop my head up on my elbow.

"Sure it is. Find someone to help get your mind off her. Like her." He points to a girl walking by our table.

"She's not nearly as pretty as Mia." I sigh.

"She's got a nice ass." Luke shrugs, eating more of his salad.

"Well I like Mia for personality." I huff.

"Yeah right." He laughs. "How many times have you talked?"

"That one time in geography-"

"She was asking for a pen." He shakes his head.

"Well I still observe how she acts in class. She's super smart." I defend.

"So you stalk her. I bet you like masturbate to pictures of her or something." He shakes his head.

"I'm done with you." I roll my eyes, turning red.

Luke teased me about this Mia-crush thing all the time. We were best friends anyway so he knew I never got too mad, I just wish that he would take me seriously. It's not my fault if I stutter when I talk to her and stare at her constantly.

"Ive got to go." I say to Luke, getting up and throwing away my rubbish into the bin.

"Okay, see ya later." He smiles.

I always leave lunch early on a Tuesday. Mainly because I have English straight after and I sit next to Mia in that class. We usually both arrive early but even though we are both the only ones there, we just sit in silence.

I arrive in the classroom and take my usual seat. She isn't here yet, probably still down at lunch with her friends. I decide to take out the novel we are reading in class right now to try remember what I read last night. I did read it, I just forgot what happened.

It's just kinda boring and I always zone out. Maybe if they had picked a better book it would be easier to stay focused. While I am looking for the page I left off, Mia walks into the room. Her hair is thrown to one side in a sexy style.

She doesn't even notice me looking at her as she takes a seat next to me and pulls out her novel. She looks so pretty as she stares down at the page and I seem to get lost as I continue to stare and only notice what I'm doing when she looks up.

"Um..hi?" She half-chuckles and raises one eyebrow, looking at me with confusion.

"Oh.. Um hi, sorry about uh that. I was d-daydreaming." I stutter. Daydreaming? Really?

"It's fine." She giggles as she gets back to reading and I pull my eyes away from looking at her again.

It wasn't that I was bad looking, just that I was incredibly shy around her. With everyone else I was fine but she just makes me... Ugh. I really am pathetic. But is it weird that even though that was extremely embarrassing, I'm still happy that she at least knows I exist.

She may not know my name, but she knows my face and that's good enough. Seriously though, if I wasn't such a pussy about talking to her, I could at least be her friend by now. I don't really get it, a lot of other girls apparently swoon over me, according to a girl in my maths class, but she doesn't seem to care.

Maybe that may be something that makes her even more attractive. Just the feeling of not being able to get something will make me want it even more.

"Alright class - open your novels to the chapter we left off on." Our teacher Ms. William comes into the room, placing her bag on the desk.

I admit, sitting next to Mia is great, it's just not great for staring. In other classes I have with her like Chemistry, I'm able to stare at her without her noticing but here it's almost impossible. She gets a lot of boy attention anyway so maybe she might be used to it.

By the time english is over I'm bored out of my mind. The next class I have with Luke, which is Spanish, I tell him about my little encounter.

"So she caught you staring?" He stifles a laugh.

"Yes, don't laugh." I cover my face with my hands.

"Well I thought I was having a bad day but apparently not as bad as you." He chuckles and then turns around when the teacher looks our way.

The teacher turns back around and so do me and Luke.

"You know Jessie don't you?" He asks me.

"Yeah, what about him?" I ask.

"Well, I'm not sure if it's true, but apparently he's trying to get back with Mia." He says and I feel a pang of jealousy.

"But he cheated on her." I say, feeling slightly angry about this.

I really enjoy when Mia is single, mainly because I don't have to deal with PDA from the girl I'm in love with who doesn't know I exist.

"Well it all depends really. She might forgive him but most likely not."
