They went to the cabin in the mountains, and Ariana unlocked the door with the key that the caretaker gave her. “Ok, let’s find this thing.” Ariana said and starting to search in the boxes.
After a while, she finally found the piece that she was looking for. “Found it!” Ariana said and sighed in relief. “That’s the amazing work of art?” Hyosuke asked. “Yeah.” Ariana answered. “I thought it was going to look amazing, but it’s small.” Hyosuke said. “Size doesn’t matter, it’s about dedication!” Ariana said gently putting the sculpture in her purse. “It looks like it’s really coming down.” Hyosuke said. She looked out the window. “Aw man…” Ariana said. “Don’t worry, we can still continue our date.” Hyosuke said. “You’re still on that?” Ariana asked. “It won’t stop me.” Hyosuke said.
Soon after, the sound of thunder and lightning could be heard. “It’s a storm.” Hyosuke said. “Just my luck. We need the caretaker to help us down the mountain.” Ariana said. “Will he come?” Hyosuke asked. “I’ll have to make a call.” Ariana said taking out her phone and made a call.
There was no reception, and she couldn’t get the call through. “No reception.” Ariana said. “It’s because we’re up in a mountain, and there’s a storm out.” Hyosuke said. “No, really?” Ariana asked sarcastically. “Looks like we have to stay the night here.” Hyosuke said. “There’s only one bed… Oh god…” Ariana thought. “Ready to hit the hay?” Hyosuke asked. “I guess…” Ariana responded.
They made it over to the bed, and he grabbed one of the blankets. “Mind if I take this?” Hyosuke asked. “Sure, but where are you sleeping?” Ariana asked. “Out there.” Hyosuke said and was walking out the room. “Wait! There’s no heater over there! You’re going to be freezing!” Ariana said. “Are you saying that we should sleep together?” Hyosuke asked. “Well… We don’t have much of a choice.” Ariana responded. He gently patted her head. “Don’t force yourself to do something you don’t want to do. I’ll just be right here then. So, you can sleep in the bed and have a good night’s sleep.” Hyosuke said. “…Thanks.” Ariana said. “Good night.” Hyosuke said and leaned against the wall, sat down and closed his eyes. She gently patted his head. “Good night, Hyosuke.” Ariana said and got into the bed.
The storm was still going on, and it was louder than before. The loud of lightning woke Ariana up. “It’s so loud…” Ariana said half asleep. She saw a couple of silhouettes going towards Hyosuke. It was two big guys getting ready to strangle Hyosuke in his sleep. “Oh shit!” Ariana said jumping out of bed. His eyes quickly shot open, and he dodged the two guys. “I was awake!” Hyosuke said and throws a guy to the ground.
Ariana was fighting with the other guy, and the guy punched her in the face. “Ariana!” Hyosuke said. “I’m fine!” Ariana said grabbing the guy’s arm, flipping him over her shoulder, and kicked him down. “Whoa… You’re pretty strong.” Hyosuke said. “Boss taught me how to defend myself.” Ariana said. “Let’s get out of here!” One of the men said, grabbing Ariana’s purse and making a run for it. “My purse!” Ariana exclaimed and tried to go after them, but was stopped by Hyosuke. “Wait! It’s dangerous!” Hyosuke said. “It has the sculpture in it, and also… The earrings.” Ariana said. “It’s not worth it!” Hyosuke said. “I’m sorry.” Ariana said getting out of his grip, and running outside into the storm. “That girl…” Hyosuke said and ran after her.
Hyosuke was trying to catch up with Ariana. “You’re not going to catch up with them, you know?!” Hyosuke shouted. “But-“ Ariana said. “Stop! Don’t go!” Hyosuke shouted. He caught up to her, and held her firmly from behind. “Please… Don’t go… Don’t leave me…” Hyosuke said in a sad tone. “Hyosuke..?" Ariana asked. He realized what he was doing and let goed. “Sorry.” She stared at him, dumbfounded. “Let’s go back inside.” Hyosuke said. “Yeah…” Ariana answered.
They were back in the cabin. Ariana put a blanket around Hyosuke, and made the both of them tea that Ariana found. “About what happened… Sorry.” Hyosuke said. “No, it’s fine.” Ariana said. “I shouldn’t have touched you like that.” Hyosuke said looking like he was holding back tears. “No, it’s my fault. I mean… I ran out without thinking, so thanks for stopping me. So… Is everything alright?” Ariana asked. “You noticed, huh?” Hyosuke asked. “Well, yeah.” Ariana answered. “Thanks for worrying about me. It’s just that… My family was robbed in the 8th grade, and my dad ran out in the pouring rain to chase after the thieves, and he didn’t come back home, and… My mom got worried, and she told Taiga to take care of me, and she went to go find my dad. We waited for days, then weeks, then months, then years…” Hyosuke said looking down. “Hyosuke… I’m so sorry…” Ariana said. “Did you think it was strange that it was just the two of us living in that huge house?” Hyosuke asked. She nodded. “I had no idea that he had such a dark past… He went through so much…” Ariana thought. “So… You were never notified about their whereabouts?” Ariana asked. He shook his head. “I’m tired of looking. My brother and I searched all over the world to find them. But let’s just say that they are alive, but then you ask yourself… How come they never contacted us..?” Hyosuke asked sadly. “Hyosuke…” Ariana said. “I would accept it if they were dead, but not knowing why they disappeared and why they never came back…” Hyosuke said trying to fight back tears. She looked down, feeling sympathy. “That’s why when I saw you run out, it reminded me of that night. I couldn’t let you go… I was afraid that the same thing would’ve happened to you…” Hyosuke said. “Hyosuke…” Ariana said and without thinking, she hugged him. “Ariana..?” Hyosuke asked. “I’m sorry… I really am… Don’t say things like you’re going to give up searching for them! I have a strong feeling that they’re alive and out there somewhere! Don’t lose hope…” Ariana said. He couldn’t hold back his tears and let them spill out. “Can you stay with me a little longer?” Hyosuke asked. “Of course. I’ll be here with you as long as you want.” Ariana said.
They were in each other’s embrace when Ariana felt something on her head which made her break the hug and scream. “What is it?” Hyosuke asked. “Something just went on my head! Oh my god!” Ariana said freaking out. “Maybe it was a spider?” Hyosuke asked. “SPIDER?! GET IT OUT!” Ariana screamed. He looked in her hair, and pretended to get something out. “Got it.” Hyosuke said. “You did?” Ariana asked. “Nope, it was actually a drop of water from a leak on the roof.” Hyosuke said. “God damn it Hyosuke!” Ariana exclaimed. He couldn’t help but laugh. “You should’ve seen your reaction, you were like ‘Ahhhh spider!” Hyosuke said teasingly. “Hyosuke Kujo…” Ariana said sternly. “Sorry. I’ll fix the leak.” Hyosuke said getting up.
Soon after, he came back. “Is it still leaking?” Hyosuke asked. “No, it’s fine now.” Ariana said. “Well, I’m soaked again.” Hyosuke said chuckling and drying himself off with a towel. “That’s not how you do it. Here, let me do it.” Ariana said and was drying his hair with the towel. “Does this mean… You like me now?” Hyosuke asked. She couldn’t respond without trying to stutter and felt her face burn up. “Oh~ Am I boyfriend material now?” Hyosuke asked. She sighed. “Stop…” Ariana said. “Come on, cheer up. I don’t want the girl I like to look sad.” Hyosuke said. “He needs to stop saying things like that… I’m starting to believe him…” Ariana thought.
