Harry stared at his immediate supervisor while trying to keep his rush of emotions from showing. Amelia was listing all the reasons why he was chosen, as the best candidate for the promotion, almost as if she knew he didn't truly want it. His heart sank with each nod of his head. He had been working hard and he could understand her desire to give him more work and responsibilities but this was the last thing he wanted.

One of his partners, Issac, worked in the same office as him and always encouraged him to do more. And Harry did, hoping Isaac would notice tell him it was enough. But it never was enough, it seemed.

Amelia looked at him, tucking a lock of blonde hair behind her ear as she waited for him to gratefully accept the offer. He took a shaky breath as he willed his body back into his protective, monotone persona.

"I'll have to discuss it with the guys before I can give you a yes or no." He simply stated.

"Well I really wanted to show you your new duties, so you can be familiar with them and catch up on what needs to be done before the end of the workweek." Amelia pushed her glasses further up her nose with one finger while giving him a look that said he was being very inconvenient. Harry usually got along with Amelia just fine, she was a fair supervisor who didn't expect more of him than he was capable of. But at this moment she was just another person trying to make him do something he didn't want to do, all to make life easier for others. "The big boss isn't in right now so why don't you go take a moment and talk to Isaac. He hasn't left all day so maybe you two could get lunch together. I know it's not just the two of you in your relationship but I'm sure you guys know your partners enough to know what they'd want you to do. Come back to me before the end of the day and I'll show you your new work routine."

Harry nodded, ignoring her assumption of the outcome. It wouldn't matter in the end, all that mattered was his partners opinions.

It was a gloomy long walk to Isaac's office. They were bonded yes, but that fact seemed only to hurt him these days. A bond was special and not everyone was lucky enough to form a bond in their lifetime. To the world Harry was lucky, because not only did he form a bond with Isaac, but they also bonded with Daniel as well. He had two bonded partners and yet he still felt alone.

Bonds were special because they made the individuals involved more emotionally aware. They gave people a leg up on non-bonded individuals as they were harder to trick and manipulate. This was because bonded individuals could feel each other's emotions, whenever they were together. After a while you start to understand how people think and react. Isaac, Daniel and Harry were all connected and could feel each other's emotions, and sense each other's presence when they were near. Despite all this though, both Daniel and Isaac had turned a blind silent eye on the deep depression Harry was entering into. Not only were his feelings being ignored but he was actively being pushed into being someone he didn't want to be.

He wanted to yell and to scream and to demand that they care but for some God forsaken reason his sole purpose in life seem to be to gain their approval. He wanted nothing more than to help them and live under them and for them to be his purpose. He hated his desires, and didn't understand why he didn't have more control over them. He figured it was because he was just weak, and these thoughts only fanned the flames of his self hatred.

As always, the inner part of himself that he hated spoke up at times like this. Saying maybe this time will be different. You've been working so hard for Issac he's definitely noticed and he'll tell you that your doing so good, that he's proud of you and that you don't need to do anymore. He knew it was stupid but for the life of him he couldn't make that small glint of hope go away.

As Harry got closer to Isaac's office his nerves started to flip flop inside him. He was able to maintain his nonchalant personality but was a complete mess inside. Personality type dictated alot in life and Harry tested as just a regular B style personality. Issac and Daniel, on the other hand, tested as B-A style personalities. B-A was still technically a B style personality, but leaned toward, or shared traits with the A personality type. Being an A type was rare, and a prerequisite to being an elite while B style was what most people in the world tested as. So having B-A personality types distinguished Issac and Daniel from the people like Harry, who had just regular B personalities and made them highly sought after for upper management positions.
