Harry sat up straight in the barber's chair while the specialist flung the cape around him. He glanced over at Isaac who was sitting in the waiting area, on his phone, with Harry's new suit draped over his knees. Isaac had picked it out. The colour was nice, it was a dark blue, but to light to be considered navy. Harry felt like the colour suited him well. The style was not one he would have picked for himself though. The pants were loose fitting with a matching coat, and a regular white button up shirt. Harry felt like he was swimming in it, or trying to look above his level.
There had been a really nice looking suit, hanging on the wall, that Harry had admired. It was black with really thin white stripes running up and down. It looked like it was very form fitting too. Harry wasn't a hundred percent sure as he hadn't dared to point it out and therefore never tried it on. If he had been by himself he would have tried it on, but even then he never would have actually purchased it. Even if it looked amazing on him, he still would have decided on something he knew his partners would approve of.
The sound of the clippers buzzing by his ears pulled him out of his thoughts. He watched as the Barber did their job, running the clippers down the full length of his head. Isaac had told the man exactly how short to cut his hair, before Harry even had to chance to introduce himself. He watched in the mirror, as his desire to see what his natural hair looked like, fell in little clumps onto the floor. It had stopped upsetting him years ago though, when his parents continued to cut it, despite his heartfelt protests.
In just a few minutes the man was done and brushing the little pieces of hairs off Harry's shoulders. He picked up a handheld mirror so Harry could see his "new" haircut from behind. Harry just nodded in approval, refusing to smile. If the man wanted a smile then he should have asked Harry how he wanted his own hair cut. He still would have asked for what Isaac wanted but it still would be nice to know that his opinion on his own body mattered.
Harry hopped out of the chair as soon as the cape was removed. He walked over to stand beside Isaac as the former paid, and complimented the man on a job well done.
As Harry followed Isaac out of the shop he turned back to look at him. "Are you hungry?" He asked with a smile, "because I'm starving!"
Harry shook his head yes, not offering a verbal reply.
"Perfect, because there is a new place down the road that I was interested in trying. It's not too far so we could just walk. What do you say?"
"That sounds nice," Harry replied with a more genuine smile. He wanted to hold Isaac's hand but the man was carrying the suit on the arm that was between them. He sighed internally and tried to walk really close to Isaac instead
. It wasn't often Isaac took him out just the two of them, so new job or not this was special. They reached the place in no time and it was a lot fancier then Harry had thought it would be. It was the weekend so he was dressed very casually in jeans, a t-shirt and a zip-up sweater. Isaac's casual clothes were always semi formal, the man didn't like to look bad. Harry side eyed him as he talked to the barista, surprised that his clothing wasn't an issue.
It was slightly late for lunch so the place hardly had anybody in it. They were sat, right away, in a far back corner, right next to a huge tinted window. Isaac draped Harry's suit over an extra chair before eloquently sitting down himself. Harry sat down opposite and started to look at the menu.
"You should let me order something for you, it'll be fun to try something new. I heard about a couple of the meals they offer and want to try a few things, so I was thinking we could share." Isaac said as he sipped on his water.
Harry smiled at him and shut the menu. "Sure, that sounds fun. What kind of food is it?"
"It'll ruin the surprise if I tell you." He said with a chuckle, before pulling out his phone. He stayed on his phone without giving Harry a second glance. With nothing else to do Harry turned his head to people watch out the window.
