(7) Asking You Out - Friends to Lovers

Scenario: They're your male best friends who've had feelings for you for a long time and they've finally decided to break the ice by asking you out on a romantic date.

Choi Soobin

- Manages to stay calm when meeting up with you. Had already decided that he'll respect your decision whatever it may be.

- Though, he had barely even started when the panic started setting in just as he started a conversation with you.

- It didn't help at all that his mind was being pessimistic as he spoke.

- It didn't take long before you noticed that something was wrong with your friend.

- He ended up asking you the question out of impulse.

- "Uh... Soobin? Something wrong? You look really out of it."

"Let's go out."

"..."

"..."

"Shoot. I actually said that out loud, didn't I?"

*laughs* "I mean, sure. Why not? I could go out with you."

"Y-... You mean as... more than friends?"

*nods* "Mm."

"..."

"Really? You mean it? No take-backs! That's not something you can just take back after saying!"

Choi Yeonjun

- Nervous. Internally panicking as he gets ready to ask you out.

- He had always been flirtung with you since day one, but he never expected that at one point he's have to be actually serious about it to actually get his point across.

- Oh, he knows, he actually does have to be very serious with this one because he knows you've only ever seen his flirting attitude as just his playful antics.

- Carefully plans everything out down to the last detail.

- Completes it with candles and roses to prove to you that he's serious.

- And so when you had entered the room after he had called you to it, you bet your favorite socks it was hella romantic.

- Shocked you, obviously.

- But, more importantly, is the question.

- Yeonjun approached you while holding a bouquet of roses in his hands, it being meant for you, of course.

- "Y/N, I hope you know that I'm being serious here. I swear, this is not a prank! I actually really, really like you, and I really want you to be my girlfriend. So... Will you go out with me?"

"... Did you actually prepare all this just to ask me out?"

"Well, I had to prove that I was serious!"

"Well, technically, you have a point..."

"Your answer, though. I need your answer."

"... Yes...?"

"With... a question mark?"

"It's still a 'yes', though, isn't it?"

"I'll take it as one, then!"

Choi Beomgyu

- Suddenly brings out the question (or rather statement) in the middle of your conversation.

- I mean, how could you know he was on the edge of his seat trying to find an opening to finally bring it up?

- Y'all were just talking about random stuff and you didn't even notice him sweating and looking restless beside you.

- Until he spoke.

- "Y/N, I like you."

"It's just so stup- Wait, what?"

*looks away awkwardly before smiling shyly* "I like you, Y/N... And I mean as more than a friend. I've been trying to tell you, but-"

- He immediately gets cut off when you suddenly kiss him on the cheek, making him flustered as he looks back at you.

- "You like me? Let's go out together then."

Kang Taehyun

- Tricks you into going out with him. With ✨Magic✨.

- Literally just uses his magic tricks to make you choose the "wrong hand" in a game.

- He had randomly made a bet with you. Guess which of his hands has the marble in it and if you get it right, he'll do anything you ask for. Get it wrong and it's the other way around.

- There's no way you could have gotten it right, though. He had hidden the marble while you were distracted by his quick hand movements.

- You know he did something, though, and you were about to interrogate him when he spoke first, surprising you (and even making you flustered) with his words.

- "Alright! I won! Now you have to do what I ask you."

"What? No way! You cheated, didn-"

"Go out with me."

"... H-huh?"

"Go out with me, Y/N. You have no other choice since you lost."

"But you-"

"So you're saying 'no'?"

"... No..."

"So that's a 'yes'? Though, of course, you have no choice since you los-"

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Fine! I'll go out with you!"

Huening Kai

- Randomly and casually asks if you can both "try being more than just friends".

- His question definitely caught you off guard, almost making you choke on your smoothie since you were both hanging out at a smoothie place.

- Once you had recovered, you quickly ask him to repeat with your face sour from having coughed hard earlier.

- "I'm sorry, what?"

"Let's try it. Dating."

"Kai, do you even realize what you're saying?"

"Mm-hmm."

"..."

"..."

"So?"

"Sure... I guess?"

"Cool! Let's have our first date this Saturday then!"

"Wait, what?"
