Midnight.
The street is quiet, a bit unusual for a normal city street, and at the intersection, the streetlight is getting ready to change lights.
The green light switches to orange, and the night stays quiet still.
However, just as it turns red, a car comes up to the intersection, and as the street light switches lights once again, the car slows down, then stops.
That was the only change in the silence of this certain intersection.
One of you could have said something about it. It's midnight, everything is quiet, but it seems neither you nor your boyfriend were willing to break that silence either... Like you were both willing to stay in the tense situation that had built up from the university library from which both of you came from.
You turn your head, looking out the window on your side with a slight frown on your face. It's almost as if you didn't even want to let out a single sigh.
Meanwhile, beside you, behind the wheel, your boyfriend glances towards you, his expression filled with concern and hesitancy. He bites on his lip as he looks at you, unsure of what to do or say.
Then, the light turns green.
Eventually, he would soon come to notice it, and he couldn't help but sigh as he switches engine and continues driving yet again. You not at all giving him a glance the whole time.
It was your first fight.
Your first fight since the beginning of your relationship and, granted, neither of you expected it to be that bad.
Being in the library and even being fully aware of it, you couldn't help but raise your voice and yell at your boyfriend who was being unreasonably jealous of your study partner. And well, neither could he help yelling.
It was a mess, and it took more than just the librarian to get the two of you to either calm down or leave the library and handle it outside. But when it did happen, you stormed out of the building. And you didn't really like it at all when your boyfriend didn't follow you outside.
How the both of you ended up going home together, neither of you really remember. It's just almost as if you just focused your memories on that horrible event that had happened in the library.
Another red light, and the car stops again.
And this time, your boyfriend finally decides to speak.
"Y/N," he starts, turning to you as he does so only to suddenly see you tearing up. Immediately, his eyes widen, and he panics. He opens his mouth to speak, struggling with his words, but before he could even grasp the beginning of a sentence, you say something that makes him stop panicking.
"I'm sorry," you say through your tears, your voice quievering as you speak. "Yeonjun, I'm sorry..."
Immediately, Yeonjun's panic disappears, and he looks at you, heart breaking at the sight of you crying. Suddenly, it's almost as if that's all it took for him to know what to say.
"No, I'm... sorry," he finally says after a while, looking down guiltily. You continue crying and wiping away at your tears, and when you still don't respond even after a little longer, Yeonjun looks back up at you. "Y/N, I'm really sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have gotten jealous when I literally knew he was just your study partner. So, please... don't cry?" He looks at you with concern, lifting his hand to wipe at your tears when you suddenly push his hand away.
"But I..." You struggle to speak in between your sobs, and at this point, Yeonjun's hand just rests on your lap with your hand holding it down. "I was wrong first... I-I shouldn't have given you a reason to feel jealous. I..." You sob again, and you struggle to speak so much that you just stop right there.
