chapter 33

"So, you like the house?" Arthit asked after unpacking the last box in the living room. Jane, whose eyes were fixed on her daughter who was exploring the house with Kongpop turned to Arthit.

"It's beautiful and so much for us, I don't think I can afford this" Jane said frankly. Arthit shook his head, "it's yours Jane, take it as my gift for your new beginning." Arthit said with a tender smile.

"Arthit, are you doing this for me? Or Anu?" jane asked fiddling in her place.

"I am doing this for both of you," Arthit said with sincere eyes. Jane smiles at him gratefully.

"Jane..." Arthit started keeping his face determined.

"Anu will have my last name." He revealed for Jane to go silent.

"Now you may not need anyone but you can't promise this in future too, I don't want to take any risk, she is mine too, so I asked dad to look for a way to register her under my family wing," Arthit explained further and received a soft hum from Jane.

"Arthit, I am sorry" Jane throat gulp the heavy lump before apologising to get rid of the heaviness in her heart.

"For what?" Arthit tilted his head with confused eyes.

"For everything, especially for not choosing you in the past!" Jane said without hesitation.

"It's okay Jane, it's not like you have a choice, and of course your family comes first." Arthit comforted her although he feel worst for Jane kept him in dark in the past.

"I don't have the strength to apologise many times Arthit, so you better forgive me at once!" Jane said with a playful smile hoping for the atmosphere to get less awkward.

"I was so sad after learning the truth from you, I may be young at that time but you should have at least looked for help from elders right? What if you lost Anu and yourself in the path? Don't act like this in the future and jeopardise your loved one's life, ask for help when you need it!" Arthit poured feeling himself relief out for talking out these things with Jane.

Jane hummed at him once again and listened to his all advice and suggestions but jolted to his side when Arthit compliments her.

"Despite everything I am proud of you Jane! You handle yourself and Anu well even though you was held in monsters pit. Thank you for being alive and keeping Anu safe!" Arthit said whole heartily.

Jane breaks into happy tears to hear this  from Arthit's mouth. She wants to hug him, so tight and soak in his warmth for long but she dare not to since he is not her man anymore.

However, her heart dropped for a second when Arthit wrapped his arms around her shoulders coming by her side  keeping his eyes on the package. She feels the storm of emotions hit at once and she quickly hold him tight for support.

Arthit patted her hair and allowed her to shed tears for the last time regarding the past issue. He assured her with more sweet words.

6 months passed in a blink. Everyone was happy and settled in their place. Parents were happy for their children except for the fact of separation, so all joined to discuss their staying place.

Arthit and Beam were adamant about having their own place but no one gave ears to their words. The whole family discussed themselves, Arthit parents were not ready to live without their son, Arthit, who was not with them for long years.
