Espresso sat on the floor, tears streaming from his eyes as Madeleine stood in front of him. ''I'm sorry Espresso...But I have to leave..'' The taller spoke, a small hint of annoyance in his voice from all the crying Espresso did in front of him.

''But..you said you'd never leave...'' Espresso retorted, trying his best to get Madeleine to stay. ''I can't stay, I must leave'' He told the smaller. ''But..-'' Espresso tried coming up with another excuse before Madeleine painfully yelled.

''JUST STOP!'' He yelled out. ''I'm sorry Espresso, but I have to move away! long-distance relationships won't work, so I'm sorry, but our relationship is over'' Madeleine told him. Espresso couldn't believe his words, after everything they've been through? It's all over...

''Please...'' Espresso pleaded, falling onto the floor as Madeleine opened the front door, leaving Espresso to cry on the floor. He didn't have the power to get up and chase after Madeleine, he sat there crying.

That's when he woke up

Espresso p.o.v

I shot up from the bed, gasping for air as tears still streamed down my face. Madeleine looked at me, ''Espresso! Are you okay?? I've been trying to wake you up but you kept crying, I was so worried!'' He told me, pulling me into a hug as I hugged back.

''I'm sorry, I just had a bad dream..'' I told him, he cupped my cheek with his hand and used the other to wipe away my tears. ''Listen, how about you wait here for a minute? I'll bring you some water'' He told me, getting up and walking off to the kitchen.

I sat there, relieved that it was a dream, I felt my heart still ache, pounding rapidly. A few minutes later Madeleine came back with a glass of water, he gave it to me as I started drinking. ''Would you like to talk about the nightmare you had?'' Madeleine asked.

''Well...'' I started. ''It was about you...leaving me, to go back to the republic across the sea..'' I couldn't finish as I teared up once again. ''Hey..'' He placed his hand on my cheek as I melted into his touch. ''Don't worry, I spoke with my family a while ago, they told me I can stay here for an eternity if I want to, my only thought right now is being with you''

''..Really..?'' I said. ''Of course Espresso, I'd never lie'' He spoke with such a gentle calming voice that it made me tear up a little more. I heard him chuckle. ''How about we try going to bed again, remember, I'll never leave you''. He made me feel safe.

We laid back down into the bed, I felt Madeleine pull me into a hug as I laid against him, Madeleine wrapping his arms around me in a protective manner, making me feel safe. I heard the slow beating of his heart as I hugged him back, cuddling into him as I grabbed one of his hands, intertwining our hands together.

Before drifting off to sleep once again, I felt him press a kiss against my head before whispering a small ''I love you''. I was dozing off, but I managed to say it back to him. I felt him hug me a little tighter before we both fell into a well-deserved sleep.
