Chapter 14

I delayed the dinner for as long as I could; ordering multiple times and eating the food extra slowly. I just hoped that Axel would've left the restaurant by now. Or else, I'll have to sell my kidney to pay for the food today.

Finally, the girls were getting tired of sitting there and we all got up to go to the washroom.

On our way there, they abruptly stopped. I followed their line of sight to see Axel sitting opposite a pretty girl. He had a small smile on his face.

Was that girl his girlfriend? Then why was he kissing that Latina?

I couldn't bear to look at it anymore so, I rushed into the washroom.

The girls took their time fixing their hair and makeup and I decided to step outside.

Suddenly, I bumped my head onto a hard chest. I was about look up and tell them off, when I suddenly caught his scent.

This was Axel. I can never be mistaken about his scent.

Avoiding eye contact, I mumbled a sorry and ran past him.

"Wait!", I heard him say but that just made me run out of the restaurant and hid near the side wall.

I heard the restaurant door open. But it wasn't him. My phone suddenly rang and I Jerked in surprised.

"Alisha, where did you run off to?!", Raniya asked.

She must've had enough with my antics today.

"I'm outside waiting for you. Needed some fresh air."

"You should've told us."

"I'm sorry guys. Anyway let's go home. It's getting late."

The entire ride back, I was trying to find a solution to my Axel problem. I couldn't keep running around for two years!

Wait, then again, why am I running away? It's not like I'm at fault. I just need to keep my heart in check....which means I have to stay away. Okay, I'll just make sure that I'm never alone with with him, then.

I dressed extra nice today. In fact I've been dressing extra nice this whole week.

Why is it that when I'm ready to actually run into Axel, I don't see him for a week?

I needed to go shopping.

I was trying to push past people to get to my seminar hall. The lecture would start in 2 minutes. And the fact that I'm vertically challenged made it almost impossible to see where I was going with the crowd choking me. Why was there a rush anyway?

And suddenly people began chanting and screaming. I made out 'BRUINS!' and 'AXEL!'.

"What's going on?", I asked a random girl beside me.

"Bruins won the Seasons cup!"

Oh! I'd heard about the win. But I didn't know it was such a big deal here. It's like they won the world cup.

I don't think I have to worry about being alone with Axel. There are way too many people around him, always.

I elbowed and pinched a few, as I made my way. Don't these people have classes to get to?

I was trying to move a muscular arm from my way, when I saw the person turn around.

I dragged my eyes from his shoes to the chest covered in a Bruins jersey and finally to the face, and his dark eyes.
