Kylo did not hold back. He put all of his pent up aggression toward you into his swings, hitting with so much ferocity that you fell to your back, barely remembering you had the Force on your side until his blade sizzled against the ground just inches from your head. You held out your hand, sending him flying back against the wall. If this was how he wanted to play, then so be it. You were weakened, but you were far from helpless.

"I thought you said you were nothing like me." Kylo spat as he stalked back over to you, circling, each daring the other to strike first. "Yet here you are, trying to take my place."

"Circumstances change." You dove, barrel rolling in midair to try and finesse your saber beneath his block to stab him in the abdomen. He turned, and you collided with his shoulder, tucking and rolling on the hard ground. The impact had you sucking in a sharp breath.

"What circumstances?" Your sabers collided, and he used his brute strength to push both blades back toward you, you gritted your teeth, using the Force to hold them at bay. Your skin burned from the close proximity of the heat.

"I won't go back in there." He pulled away, twirling his saber as he looked you over. "I'll die before I go back into that room." You spun around, and his lightsaber caught you in the back, slashing up your shirt and revealing the raw, still healing welts in your skin from the whip. You landed in a crouch, and Kylo was frozen, his eyes wide. He looked from you up to Snoke, then back. You used his distraction to rush toward him, swiping the top of his thigh. He hissed, holding his injury and limping, his eyes red and watery from the pain. You forced him to engage again, your maneuvers pushing the pair of you so close to the red guards at the back of the room that you pulled away, icy fear making you swallow back your pride. Kylo strode toward you again, but his demeanor was different now, and it wasn't just because he was injured. You didn't feel his anger anymore. You growled, tackling him to the ground and kicking his lightsaber from his hand. It slid across the floor, and he did nothing to try to get it back in his grip. Rage overwhelmed you, why wasn't he trying?

"Fight back!" You stepped your foot on his chest, retracting one end of your saber and pointing the ignited end at his throat. "Fight back, you coward."

"You've bested me." Kylo said, raising his hands by his head and looking right into your eyes. Your stomach dropped like it was weighted with lead.

"Very good, very good." Snoke clapped his hands together from the top of the dais, so far from where you stood in the large space. "Kill him." It was like all of the sound was sucked from the room, every moment between you rushed through your mind. When he'd slammed you against the wall in anger that very first day, to the look in his eyes when you told him that what you had was over. But what was it that you had? Obsession, infatuation? You swallowed hard, your hand beginning to tremble.

Kylo looked at you, eyes widening almost imperceptibly. You raised your saber, feeling Snoke tracking the red blade with a hungry gaze. You raised your other hand, making to grab the hilt for a better grip, but at the last second, opened your palm instead, taking a breath in, deep into the base of your ribs. You dragged your hand through the air, a huge explosion rocking the ground beneath you. The length of the wall up to the ceiling to your left collapsed into pieces, flying out and taking several of the red guards with it. You retracted your saber, jumping on top of Kylo to shield him from the blast. Chunks of metal rained down in every direction, burying Snoke and Vicrul. You scrambled to your feet, holding a hand out to Kylo.

"Come on," You breathed, a few of the red guards that hadn't been crushed were starting to come to their senses. "We have to go!" Kylo didn't hesitate before taking your hand, holding out his other to call his saber into it. You both ignited your weapons, fighting two guards each, back to back, inching toward the door. You swung your blade, catching one in the stomach, and he went down. Sadistic instinct took over as you faced your next target, the whip he brandished the same that marked your skin. You screamed in rage, rushing the guard and knocking him to his back and holding him there with the Force, stomping on his hand again and again until it was little but blood and bone. You held out your hand and his whip flew into it, the feeling the hum of the electric tip vibrating through your entire arm. You remembered the jolt of electricity that had reverberated through your body, knowing he felt the same as you brought the whip down on him over and over and over again. Blood sprayed on your face and you released your grip on his body with the Force, but he was already too far gone to cry out. There was a gentle, yet firm grip on your arm and you jumped, coming back to reality.
