Maleficent POV
My eyes shot open as I quickly look around it's still dark" i then look down at my daughter who is safely sleeping next to me cuddling into my side. I sigh with relief.
"Shes safe" i reassure myself. I feel aurora start to stir. She opens her eyes and looks at me
" I'm sorry I woke you baby go back to sleep"
"M-Mother? What's wrong?" She asks worried. "What makes you think something is wrong beastie?" I ask her raising a brow.
"Your crying" she says frowning. I touched my cheek. It's wet.. "I.. I was crying?" I think to myself.
I wipe my face and smile sadly at her. Reaching over I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear,
"I just had a nightmare sweetheart nothing to worry about" she scoots closer and lays her head on my chest. "what about?"
I sigh. "I- lost you again.. I was looking for you but could find you nowhere and it frightened me I thought they had taken you from me again" I say a bit of tears behind my eyes.
"Mama nobody is taking me from you and if they do I will always find my way home
To you." Smiling I lean down and kiss her forehead.
"And I will always be there to save you, you know that right?"
"Yes mama"
"Good" I wrap my wings tighter around her.
"Mama?
"Yes beastie?" "I love you" she mutters sleepily
"I love you to little one, more than anyone will ever know"
Soon aurora falls asleep. I look over and let a few tears roll down my cheeks when I hear a small Caw from the tree branch above my head.
"What do you want Diaval?" I ask looking up to see the raven perched on the branch He fly's down and lands beside me. "Caw?" I sigh and roll my eyes a bit as I turn him human. "What is it?"
"Mistress are you alright why are you crying?"
I sigh softly. "I'm worried diaval" he scoots Closer and lays beside me. "About?" He asks
"Aurora... I say looking down at the sleeping child In my arms. What if they take her from me again diaval?" I ask tearing up. He wipes my tears away. "Nobody will take her mistress I will keep a close watch on her" I smile.
"Thank you Diaval"
"He smiles at me"
"Anything for my mistress"
I roll my eyes a bit with a smirk
"Goodnight diaval I say rolling over still holding aurora close to me"
"Goodnight mistress"
