I grumble in my sleep. The sun was shining through the windows making me knowledged that it was morning. I feel Kai's arm latched around me but don't remove it. It's weird that being close with him brings me comfort.
I couldn't help the feeling of giddiness that arose in me.
We were getting out today.
A smile stretches across my face. I was honestly so happy. After today I would be out of here for good. And Kai. Well, we'd not be together anymore for every waking moment but that was okay. I feel as if it's best that we just cut all ties. At least that's what I tell myself.
My smile drops and I let out a sigh. I hated that. I hated that I didn't like the idea of us being apart even though I know I should.
I try and peel kai's arm off me but it's latched on too tight. I try to squirm out of his grip but he pulls me closer.
"Kai," I say.
"Mmmm no," he mumbles his voice sleepy.
"Yes," I respond trying to get his arm off of me again but he doesn't budge.
I release an aggravated breath out.
"Kai let go of me or I'll slap you," I threaten.
"Your no fun," he groans removing his arm from my waist.
I roll my eyes as I hop off the bed.
"Okay, so I'ma take a shower," I state heading to the door.
"Oooh, can I join?" Kai says making me turn around.
"Didn't you hate me less than 12 hours ago?"
He shrugs "I'm a complicated person."
I roll my eyes. "How many times do I have to say. That's never gonna happen."
"Whatever you say, Grace."
...
When I got back to my room I took a shower not too long though I didn't want to miss the eclipse.
I put on some denim jeans and a long short sleeve shirt.
As I do this I think about what kai said.
"Oooh, can I join?"
I don't even know why I'm thinking about this it's not like it was gonna happen but I just remember the last time I saw kai shirtless and wet.
He was just so...
Oh my god get a grip Grace.
...
"So how do you feel?"
Kai and I wear eating one last breakfast together at the kitchen table.
"Okay," I answer putting a forkful of pancakes in my mouth.
"Just okay."
I swallow my food. "Fine; good."
"Just good," he smiles teasing me.
I set my fork down. "Fantastic."
"That's better," he says.
I roll my eyes and look back down at my plate to try and hide my smile.
"Ok so do you have everything," I mention after a moment of silence.
"Yup," he says.
"Okay, good."
Kai looks at me directly in the eye for a moment and my face twists in confusion.
"Can I see your necklace real quick?" he asks.
