History. History is a line of motion being drawn by fate. Predictable in some ways, unexpected in others, all moments of the present and future depending on those of the past. And yet, every single time I thought about it, fantasised about it, I never imagined for a second that the decisions I made oh so long ago would turn into what it did. I never guessed it would turn into what I had sculpted it to be: a never-ending trainwreck, starting with a single word,
"Hey!" Delilah approached me.
"Hey, Delilah." I half-heartedly respond. Delilah is moving today because of her dad's work, and I can't help but be upset. She can't even stay till the last day of school tomorrow!
"I have a parting gift for you." Delilah bowed exaggeratedly and presented a small vermillion box. I wonder, what could be inside?
"What is it?" I took it and was about to open it when Delilah stopped me.
"Wait till you get home, okay? I'll come over later and the three of us can open it together." She hastily assured me. I nodded with a sad smile and walked to my next class.
Delilah went missing that day, and I thought I would never see her again, and so did everyone else. Missing posters went up the day after, and an Amber alert was issued. Nothing ever came up.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
My name is Victoria Reed, I'm 16 years old, and I was supposedly destined to end this pathetic human race. What you're about to read, is how I got to rule my world.
