Henry Winter

You meet Henry on the first day of your freshman year at Hampden College. You were enrolled to take the greek class with Julian Morrow. You were exceptional with greek as you were with many other things. It was 10am and you started to make your way to the lyceum, however, given that it was your first day, you got a bit lost on the way. You walked by what felt like 20 buildings and the more you trudged on, the more lost you became. Just as you went around another corner you accidentally crashed into someone that was moving briskly past. Gravity took you to the ground and the book you were carrying dropped with you. For a moment, you just stared at the ground. You couldn't really tell if you were doing it out of confusion or embarrassment. Then, in one brisk motion, you were lifted back onto your feet. It was now for the first time that you noticed who had crashed into you. You looked up to see a tall, broad, pulchritudinous man. You had never been more genuinely intimidated by a person in your life. Just as you were about to struggle out some words of apologies, the tall man bent down and grabbed your book off the ground. You went to reach for it but just before your hand was able to make contact he pulled it swiftly back towards himself and read over the cover.
"you study greek." This was all he has said. he didn't phrase this as a question and more of an observation, but given the unbearable silence that followed, you decided to follow him up on his fact.
"yes, i'm in the greek class here, i was just on my way there actually."
"no, you aren't" He said this with such certainty and apathy that it threw you off.
"yes, i am. i'm quite certain i would know which classes i am taking."
"i apologize. i meant, no you aren't on your way there, not, no you're not in the class. i know you're in the class, Julian has told me all about you. It would seem however, that you don't have a clue where you're going given that i was also heading towards the lyceum." Immediately you were entranced with the way that he spoke and the way he carried himself. You could tell that this was going to be a person that you weren't going to be able to keep your eyes off of.
"oh." i said, slightly embarrassed. "well then do you mind leading me in they right direction, i really don't know this place yet."
"of course. walk with me" We walked for a minute or so before he turned to me and said, "i'm Henry by the way, i hope to get to know you better. but don't worry, i have a feeling i'll like you. anyone who willingly chooses this rigorous of a schedule is interesting to me."
As the walk continued Henry conversed more with you. He told you the basics of what to expect from the class, and when you told him that you were nervous about what the other students would think of you, he gave you a synopsis on all of them about what they're like and what they like. You couldn't help but notice the way that he spoke. Everything he said seemed to flow so smoothly as if he didn't even think about his answers, but you knew that couldn't be true given how he meticulously picked his words. He was magnetic.
From there on out you and Henry remained close and he only became more impressed with your intelligence and wisdom.
