Hey everybody! Thank you so much for all your suggestions With the help of your requests Im inspired to write new chapters. Please be patient with me I update slow and also a sucker for slowburn T_T. I will do my best to include all your suggestions into the upcoming chapters.

Chen Ke Ying's death was like a blade that stabbed YuZhi's heart. His body was sprawled on the sofa with his head lolled back. His eyes stared at nothing , tears trickled down his cheeks but no sound came from his mouth.

''Chen Yu Zhi.'' somebody called his name then followed by a knock.
The doctor was very much familiar with the man's voice,  but he neither moved nor uttered  a reply.

''Chen Yu Zhi.... I'm going to the police station. If you need anything just call my office.''

Last night, Jiang Yue Lou walked  Chen Yu Zhi to his doorstep to make sure he does not do anything brash because of anger. 

''Chen Yu Zhi, will you be okay alone?'' the Chief asked.

He nodded, '' Thank you for walking me home Chief Jiang.''  and without looking back he closed the door.

Jiang Yue Lou did not sleep a wink last night thinking that Dr. Chen might suddenly take actions on his own. He kept his senses on high allert for any signs of Chen Yu Zhi leaving his house. Fortunately none of that happened, but still  Chief JIang's mind was not at ease.

At the police station, Jiang Yue Lou together with his subbordinates were discussing Chen Ke Ying's case.

''Boss, how is Dr. Chen?'' Song Rong asked.

''I don't know. Didn't see him this morning.''

''What?! B-boss what if he-he..did something ..'' Sun Yongren stuttered.

''Enough! Dr. Chen is not as weak as you think. Whatever you are implying will never happen, Chen Yu Zhi is not the type of person who is broken easily!''

Yue Lou closed his eyes and took a deep breath. ''You two go and find some clues, maybe the stalls near the incident saw the shooter.''

''Yes boss.''

Heavy rain fell on Jing City in the evening, the stalls  closed early and so the streets were almost empty. The Chief just finished his work and was on his way home. At the alley, he was surprised to see Xiao Bai running towards him under the bad weather. He squated down and covered the cat with his umbrella.

''Xiao Bai what are you doing outside? Come let's-'' his words were cut off. On Xiao Bai's white fur there was a trace of blood, it was almost washed off due to the rain but it was faintly there.  JIang Yue Lou checked the cat but he found no wound.

'B-boss what if he-he..did something ..''  Sun Yongren's words echoed to his ears.

''Chen Yu Zhi!'' He dropped the umbrella and dashed off.

''Chen Yu Zhi! Chen Yu Zhi!''

The doctor was lying on the cold, wet ground. Carving tools were scattered and a memorial tablet was beside him. Without delay Jiang Yue Lou carried the doctor inside. He laid him down on the sofa and checked his breathing. He let out a sigh of relief , if he came a moment later Chen Yu Zhi's life would have been in danger.

After changing Chen Yu Zhi's wet clothes he carried him to the bed. With a towel soaked in warm water he wiped down the doctor. Upon seeing the cuts on the doctor's fingertips JIang Yue Lou paused.

''You, why are you suddenly so careless.'' he whispered.

Chen Yu Zhi stirred, his brows furrowed and his lips pressed  together. Jiang Yue Lou touched his forehead and then his.

'His temperature is higher than normal.'

The Chief opened Chen Yu Zhi's medical kit and looked for the medicine that the doctor gave him when he had fever. He set the tablets and glass of water on the bedside table. He used his left arm to support Chen Yu Zhi.

''Chen Yu Zhi, Chen Yu Zhi wake up.'' He whispered softly but the doctor did not wake up. He sighed again for the nth time today.

'How am I suppose to give you medicine?'

'Whatever, you owe me a huge favor for what I'm gonna do.'

Chief Jiang took the tablets with him to the kitchen.He returned moments after with a liquidized medicine in a small cup.

This time he used some pillows to prop up the doctor. He held Yu Zhi's chin and slightly tilded his head up, then he took a deep breath, sipped some of the bitter liquid and gently passed it into the doctor's mouth. One, two, three times he did this action and everytime his lips touched the doctor's, drums would beat on his chest.

"????"

The rain stopped but it was still dark outside. It was midnight ang Chief Jiang dozed off on the sofa.

''Ke Ying...Ke Ying..'' came Chen Yu Zhi voice.

JIang Yue Lou was stirred awake. He stood up and approached Chen Yu Zhi who was mumbling in his sleep.  He took Chen Yu Zhi's hand and caressed his head .

''Chen Yu Zhi, rest now. Don't worry I will help you seek justice. ''

The hand that he was holding responded with a tight grip. The hold was not meant to hurt but more of being araid to be left alone.

There it is again, the drums on his chest played.

Dum! Ba dum! Ba dum!

'Jiang Yue Lou, what is this?'

With a question that he himself could not answer the poor Chief stayed up all night witting on the floor with his hand tightly held by the doctor.

The morning was came, Jing city was covered up with a calm dawn. The heavy downpour las night seemed to be a dream if not for the left over puddles on the streets. 

Inside the Chen household, Xiao Bai was sleeping near the fire stove, his fur now fully dried and clean.

"Xiao Bai. You naughty cat, this is not your home how can you sleep so peacefully." Jiang Yue Lou ruffled the cat's head waking it up. 

 Xiao Bai retaliated with a loud meow, shook himself then left.

He too prepared to leave.  Jiang Yue Lou was reluctunt to leave Chen Yu Zhi alone in his current state but solving the case is priority.
